Commercial Description:
This unique seasonal beer offers the warmth of an old English pub to help ward off the chill of a winter’s night. It has its origins in British neighborhood pubs where villagers would gather to shake off the damp cold of the bitter English winter. They’d share a pint or two of winter warmer ale by the fire, catch up on local gossip, and stay inside, where it was warm. We’ve brewed our version in the tradition of those winter ales, with a robust, full-bodied flavor and a tangy hint of spices.

This beer did not have any head. It tasted a little bit like coffee or carmel. It had a nice smooth taste with on bitter finish.

12oz bottle - pours deep dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is caramel malts, chocolate, some roasted nuts and some raisins. Flavor is quite similar. Pretty robust. Palate is thick creamy and mouthcoating yet not as heavy as stouts and porters. This one was actually a little better than expected... This brewery has been much better than I expected on most I’ve tried.

Full reddish brown pour, with a thin tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malts, nuts and fruits, with a tootsie roll chocolate note at the end. There is also some metal scraps in the aroma that isn’t very good (I had a couple of bottles with this issue). Chocolate, medium roast almost lightly burnt. Sweet and spicy finish. Slightly syrupy. This is a fair offering from Summit.

Aroma is molasses. Burnt roasted nutty flavor. A winter treat. A hint of chocolate; maybe even some cinnamon. Decent brew.

Pours a dark mahogany with some tan head. Smells of roast, dry chocolate, and maybe nuts. Thin and watery in the taste dept. Some roast and dry chocolate are noticed, finishes bitter.

Pours a deep dark brown with a thick, forthy and nicely-lacing tan head. Nice rich toasty caramel toffee aroma has a touch of noble hops and some milk chocolate complexity. Body starts with good viscosity, nice, lightly sweet, full caramel maltiness and a smooth, lightly bitter dark chocolatey finish. A very nice and enjoyable winter warmer. Probably the best beer I’ve had from Summit yet.

Pours a deep rich brown and light malt aroma. Pleasant tasting with a spicy hint to the flavor.

A fairly good spiced ale. Falls short of amazing when compared to Anchor’s efforts. Not a bad beer--good on tap when in town.
