hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA Nov 18, 2004 Nice large fluffy head, dark in colour, with great lacing. The aroma is a bit thin, mostly made up of malts, maybe a bit of chocolate. The body was a bit thinner than I prefer and the taste was a tad watered down. But it was pretty good overall. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Nov 16, 2004 On tap athe Crescent Moon Alehouse. This is another surprisingly pleasant ale from Summit. Dark amber brown ale with a fleeting beige head. Mild aroma of chocolate and caramel. Nutty malt aroma and flavor. I get no spices discernable at all. A good session beer for a winter ale. edbeered (2), St Paul, Minnesota, USA does not count Nov 12, 2004 A light but not unpleasing aroma. The taste has hints of spice and chocolate. Very smooth. A nice beer from Summit. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Nov 3, 2004 Pours from the bottle with almost no head and a very dark body. Had this in a Chimay chalice. A little bit of amber colored light slips throught when held up to the light. Aroma of chocolate and a little toffee. Also has some slight cooked mixed vegatables. The taste is some malty roasted coffee. Also has some dirt and leaves of fall. But this is pleasant. A real winner. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Sep 7, 2004 Jay and i agreed that it smells like paste. Cola brown, thick body. Caramelly, scotchy, malty brew with hints of toffee and a very dry finish. jaymobrown (1344), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 30, 2004 This smelled like glue. Mostly flavorless and dry. Some bitter notes in the end. Medium finish. Also, there were some baked raisin pie flavors, which was nice. schweiger7 (5), Edina, Minnesota, USA does not count Aug 17, 2004 Dark in color, full body flavor, a long lasting head. Simply put... the best Winter Ale I’ve had. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Jul 28, 2004 Dark Brown Coloring. A very Good Offering From Summit. Spices. Very Decent Winter Warmer.
