This was a little better than I thought it would be. Aroma was rich and malty and maybe a little smokey. Flavor was kind of sweet, a light bitterness, caramel maits and maybe a hint of some chocolate malts. I guess I could see some of the spice too. Easy to drink and not to bad. jake65 (1760), Williston, North Dakota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2008 Draught at Ginger Man. Poured a bronze, brown colour with a medium off-white head and foamy lacing. Not a big aroma but some malt and coffee. Enjoyable sweet flavour that gives way to some bitterness in the finish. Good brew. Elizavyeta (110), Minnesota, USA

While the flavor tends a bit on the dry, somewhat flat side, there are undeniable hints of dark chocolate, malt, and oats.
Best as a warm-you-up beer alongside a sharp cheddar. amishcaravan (239), Winona, Minnesota, USA
