60 ounce can, supplied by WillRunForBeer. Many thanks! Opened at his Merrimac flat. To fist-sized shot glass, it pours a chestnut-tinted light dark brown; only a line of suds shown on top. Aromas of dried cranberries, blackberry purée, muscovado sugar, tobacco, burnt cotton, and German yeast. Tastes the same with the addition of plums, sugarcane, and chalk. Hm; what is this stuff?

Can from trade. Thanks, Jeramiah! Pours coca cola brown and nearly still. Aroma is straght up bourbon. Dark malts, molasses, oak and vanilla. Flavor follows nose. It’s like bourbon-light. Tasty.

Standard brown pour, cream colored head. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, roasted nuts...very straightforward bourbon bomb.

Can, poured into a tulip. Brown with off white head. Nose is vanilla, bread, chocolate. Flavor is sweet with a dry finish; malty with oak and vanilla, but not much bourbon. Just ok overall.

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2014 Can - Dark maple pour with thin white head. Nose of booze, malt, and light vanilla. Taste follows. Not sure if this style is conducive to barrel aging. It comes off so thin like Velvet Merkin, although it tastes much better than VM. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from can into tulip. Pours cola brown with almost no head. Good aroma with notes of bourbon. Mouthfeel is pretty thin. Taste is some bourbon, but not much else.

From picnic tap, to pitcher, to fest glass at FOBAB 2013, with a fairly clear, brownish amber color, and a modest, light tan layer as head foam. Bourbon throughout, but never hot. Toast, caramel sweetness, a touch of toffee, and barrel notes with some extracted vanilla, were noticeably present in both aroma & taste. A bit of hop bitterness still snuck in, while some dried fruit seemed to lend extra sweetness to the flavor. Smooth, maybe somewhere between medium & full bodied, but very tasty! A popular request at the Category 04/Classic Styles table.

Sample at FOBAB. Oaky and vanilla, some caramel. nice bourbon taste without the heat. body is a bit thin for a ba beer, but that should be expected for a bock. good stuff.

Sample at GABF. Christ a Pappy aged Bock. Knock out and one of the stars of the day for me. Creamy, smooth bourbon with hints of vanilla, fruits, breads, caramel. Very nice.
