COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Bitter Druid ESB is a new twist on an old favorite. Our Americanized ESB blends American 2-row pale malt with choice British specialty malts to create a rich malt start that is followed by a crisp, American hop finish. This beer is a wonderful gateway to the world of hops due to it’s delicate balance and rich array of flavors.

Growler from Sun King Brewery in Indianapolis. Growlers on Superbowl Sunday! Amazing! This beer is one of my favorites to come from Sun King. Pours a red amber color and a thin frothy head. The taste seems to get weaker and weaker the more I drink it but that being said the taste of this beer is a sweet hoppy delight that is easy to drink, especially from the tap

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2011 re-rate: I may have been a bit harsh as I finished the remaining growler the next day. The flavor was better, but still weak. However, that weak flavor was more pronounced after the Walkabout, which I really like. Poured from growler a dark reddish brown with off-white, frothy head from aggressive pour. Tons of lacing. Aromas of floral, grass, and citrus. Taste is mild sweet and mild bitter. Not a real strong flavor coming through. Palate is a bit thin, below avg carbonation, and short, dry finish. Overall, this one seems like it could be a really good beer, but the flavor is a bit weak, especially compared to the nice aroma. Expected more.

Draft at The Heorot. Amber body. Short, off-white head. Grainy aroma with notes of grass, citrus, caramel and pale malt. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Some earthiness in the taste along with toffee, breadiness and husks. Off-balance. Unclean and less than memorable.

On tap at Trion. Golden amber color with a thin off white head. Sticky lace. Light hoppy nose. Very sessionable drink. Light moutfeel, with a small malt backbone under a citrusy hop flavor. Maybe a little thin but tastey.

(draught - growler from brewery) amber/orange with generous off white head. Earthy/biscuit aroma. Flavor is earthy/biscuit malt, a bit of grassy hops in the finish.

Sampled on tap at the brewery. An earthy grainy ESB, with some ok malts and other things going on with some caramel and light earthy hops. Not too bad

1/2 growler courtesy of stfun. Pours amber with an off white head. Smells of citrus, earthy, some metallic hints, peppery, some tea. Tastes of biscuits, pepper, citrussy, some touches of caramel, grainy with a light, earthy finish.

Light brown pour, not much head. Faint aroma of roasts malts. This beer is much lighter than I had expected and doesn’t carry much flavor. A very watered down ESB.
