Draft. Sweet crab apple, ginger and light malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Slightly sweet ginger and apple malt flavor. Pleasant.

Wow, 7th rating... don’t think I’ve been so close to a true beginning rate before. Had this on tap at the Trion in a paddle with four other beers. Basucally included it to keep the fiancee happy, lol. Poured a light amber with little to no head, nose was... guess what, apples. Bitter-sweet, light and thin... nothing to write home about, but it kept my Dede in good spirits while I slurped away at the better stuff. So in that regard, it was an exceptionally rare brew!

On tap at Wolfies Den in Fishers, a quaint little place I checked out specifically for this beer and was not dissapointed. Pours a pale, brown/yellow haze with 1 finger white head that quickly fades. Nose is faint candy apple and wheat, not too strong but inviting. Taste is fresh, crisp and refreshing sweet apple over slightly bitter, strong wheat flavor. Definitly A+ for what they were going for...would be excellent on a hot summer day (those don’t happen enough in Indiana).

Sampled from the tap at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured a light cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma was mainly malty with an undertone of sour apple. Flavor was full of grain malts and just a hint of apple with a little sour note.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2010 Nice, simple beer from Sun King. Picked up a couple growlers of this and drank them all. Pours a deep yellow color, with a hint of amber and a thick white head. Lots of apples in the aroma, with a nice tartness. Flavor is not too fruity, nicely balanced. Slightly bitter and creamy on the palate, with a good fizziness as well. Just a tad too sticky. This brew is nice, but better suited for fall.

Draft sample at Sun King. Poured hazy amber color with an average fizzy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate tart apple and yeast aroma. Medium body with a thin smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium apple sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable soft beer.

Growler from brewery. Pours cloudy gold with a hint of orange. The foamy white head dissipated quickly. Apple and Belgian yeast aromas. Apple juice, wheat, and spicy Belgian yeast flavors. Medium body with low carbonation.

tap at the brewery - Pours hazy yellow-brown with a lingering off-white head. Smells of citrusy esters and crab apple. It tastes of wheat malt, some earthy hops that linger, and a little sourness, presumably from the crab apples. It’s okay, but not really my thing. Someone else sampling beers when I was there told me I had to try the crab apple wit, it was great. So as usual, I guess YMMV.
