Sun King First Waltz Imperial Rye IPA

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First Waltz is the first of Sun King’s Specialty Beer Offerings. Both of Dave & Clay’s final beers at their last brewery were Imperial IPAs. Clay’s was a beer called Mohawk Red (in honor of once being reprimanded and told that a mohawk and shorts were not professional attire... WTF?) and Dave’s was called The Last Dance (in recognition of the end of his nearly 8 years at a busy downtown brewpub).

First Waltz is a West Coast Style IPA that was brewed with flaked rye to accentuate the spicy, citrus hop flavor of the Nuggets and Cascades used in it’s creation. The malt is more or less a conduit for the hops and this beer is double dry-hopped, both in the fermenter and again as it was kegged, giving it the freshest hop aroma possible.
