3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 oz can, courtesy stfun. This one pours a glowing sunset orange color and topped by a small, smooth head of off white foam that slowly settles to a thin film and leaving sudsy spots of lace around the glass. Thousands of bubbles quickly move up the glass giving it a lively appearance. The aroma is very west coat in nature showing big, juicy grapefruit and orange citrus up front followed by a toasted caramel malt base to add some sweetness to back up all the hop bitterness. The flavor follows suit, but not quite as bright as nose suggests with the juicy orange and bitter grapefruit up front along with notes of resinous pine. Toasted caramel and biscuit malts provide the balancing counterpart, but everything still tends toward to the bitter side from all the hops. The palate is substantial with some residual sugars adding heft to go with moderate carbonation that leads to a lengthy, bitter finish. This one doesnít quite get as dry as some of the better west coast examples, but it is a really tasty brew and enjoyable to drink. Really good stuff. This brewery continues to impress.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 oz. can thanks Queenholly! Pour is a amber gold color with thick lasting head and sheets of lace. Nose is big on Grapefruit (go figure) pine needles and traces of caramel. Flavor starts with pine cone, mango, candi sugar rounded out with a nice grapefruit kick. Light on the palate with lots of juicy hops. I wish I could sample this on draft, real solid brew. I drained the can with ease.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a bright orange/gold with some white foamy goodness.
Smells of grapefruit and citrus hops however there is just a hint of caramel to balance out.
Wow this may be my favorite Sun King brew. Huge grapefruit flavor throughout. At first there is some citrus to accompany it followed by some bready caramel malt and it finishes with a HUGE grapefruit bitterness in the aftertaste like nothing Iíve had before. Iíve had similar intense piney bitterness before but not grapefruit. It really finishes like I am drinking grapefruit juice.
Mouthfeel and carbonation are typical for the style.
I canít get enough of this stuff. Hopefully itíll be a future canning release as Iíd love to have this more.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
64 oz growler served in a wine glass taster. Thanks to mishuggah for the share.
A: Pours a solid orange color with a thin white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin ring. Some splotchy lace left down the glass.
S: Some dirty berry and some solid grapefruit flesh on the nose with a mild dried grass note and cracker malts.
T: Large grapefruit upfront, mostly fleshy, with just a touch of bitter pith. Sweet bready malts with some dirty, earthy hops on the finish.
M: Clean and light bodied with a medium carbonation level.
O: Definitely lives up to the name with the grapefruit, but I was still slightly disappointed in this one. Itís pretty hyped and I think it fell a little flat in complexity.
Serving type: growler

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can thanks to Josh! Pours a near clear amber orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet citrus with some bitter grapefruit and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has a nice start of citrus that grows into bitter grapefruit and has a sweet grain backbone.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
16 oz. can from jstax. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized yellowish beige head. The aroma and flavor have a big grapefruit citrus character, some tangerine, moderately sweet malts, caramel, lasting bitterness to the finish. Easy drinking west coast gem of an ipa. Another example of a beer I wish we could get locally.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can shared by raveskdr. Thanks Chris!
The beer is orange with a white head. Big grapefruit juicy nose, with abundant hops, followed by some bready malts and a hint of alcohol. Nice flavor. Big and bold with sufficient bitterness in the back. A bit of warming alcohol heat in the finish. More of a sipper than a refreshing IPA. Good stuff.

Canned brew thanks to a chill macro chuggin beer bro by the name of Nico. Bitter astrjnt resin. Quite dank. Bitter grapefruit. Toasted melon. Too much unrefined bitterness. Infected with hops.
