4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 davey101 (495) - Connecticut, USA - APR 10, 2012
22 oz can into a pint glass. 046 stamped on the underside of the can.
A - Very dark amber body. 3 finger high fluffy off white head dies down to a thin cap with some messy edging.
S - Very sweet malts and grapefruit. There is some dankiness hidden way in the finish. Similar to the onion aroma found in Founders Devil Dancer, but much less pronounced. Piney and earthy. Alcoholic warmth is noticeable.
T - Sweet caramel malts and danky/piney hops. A bit of grapefruit citrus. Heavy and robust for an IIPA. Finish is bitter and long. Medium mouth feel with some creaminess to it.
O - An exceptional DIPA that is very heavy on the sweetness. Lots of nice complexities happening with a solid caramel malt backbone. This is a really well made beer that I’m sure is phenomenal when fresher.

Acquired this beer in a trade 2 weeks ago. Stored it in the fridge, poured into a pint glass and enjoyed it out by the river.
A - They were not joking when saying on the can, "A pint in every can." The pour filled my pint glass even on a very slow pour and fell right over the edges. Impressive. 1-Finger head full of only tight creamy bubbles, slightly off white almost like vanilla ice cream. The beer is an SRM of 2.5. Very deep and gorgeous dark golden color border lining on orange.
S - The main reason I’m not a fan of pint glasses is that it’s very hard to get a scent.I’m getting very minimal hops. Mostly sugars and caramel. Almost like sniffing a babe ruth bar if you could imagine that.
T - THIS is a very tasty beer. Wow! Candy corns, caramel, mild hops on the back of the tongue, maple sugar sweetness on the tip of the tongue. It’s a beer that, if solid, woud melt in your mouth. It covers every section and owns it.
M - 90/10 carbonation on the mouth swish. Medium bodied, lingering brown sugar and caramel taste. Mild booziness linger and a slight hint of hops on the finish.
O - This beer is so damn drinkable. It’s not a very easy beer to find. if you see it, grab a couple of cans. I’m regretting only having one of these to drink.

This is the sister beer of Osiris, and a hoppier version of their pale ale. This beer pours a light bodied bright copper in color with a two finger, very soapy cream colored head. The nose is ultimately fresh and hoppy. It kind of has that harvest ale type appeal to it. The nose is very hop forward yet has moderate malt sweetness, almost in a candied malt manner. It has a very approachable nose and the freshness is great. The flavors a fresh and hoppy with a little fresh hop soap characteristic. It’s almost like an imperial harvest ale and I’m all over it. It has a nice balance of hops and malt with an ever so slight touch of malt sweetness ending with just a tad bit of alcohol. It drinks light in body and is easy drinking for the abv and style. I really like this one. It really impressed me when I had it out of a growler and it was pretty good out of a can as well. I’m glad Sun King canned it. Good work guys!

Pint can that poured a light golden orangge with a thick offwhite head that cold of used a sundial to time the head to dissipate. Aromas of sticky dank hops, grapefruit, and resin. Flavors are the same, enjoyable DIPA, and refreshing.

Medium sized off white head with good retention and lace. Clear, amber/copper colored brew. Nice citrusy nose, grapefruit, lil resiny, earthy and inviting. Body is med/full, bit chewy, somewhat abrasive carbonation thats cool, juicy on the palate. nice hop flavors of, grapefruit, pine, light melon notes with more earthy and some dank notes as well, juicy citrus and faint pale malts that are fairly dry. Finishes well, dry, bitter and wanting another. Props to GMCC2181 for sharing this lovely critter. Thanks Gabe!

Can from StFun... Nice pour, bright golden orange color with a good head. I like the nose on this, lots of tropical fruits. Taste is a juicey DIPA.. Lots of tropical fruits, mango, hoppy but not bitter. Well balanced, easy to drink. Not sticky or sweet , just a nice brew. Medium body and carbonation. Overall: Easy drinker, well done SunKing. Thanks Josh!

Pours gold with a white head. Citrus, pine, and resinous aromas. Big hop bitterness with grapefruit, lemon zest, orange, and pine notes. Finishes with a lingering bitterness. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy.

Thanks, Josh! Pretty dank, dark orange, malty and sweet, with floral hops and not quite enough bitters. I sense that this would be righteously better fresh tapped but as is it was a solid, enjoyable DIPA.

Appearance: Pours a dark orange with a thin dense white head.
Aroma: Brown sugary malt, candied orange, pine needles.
Taste: Spicy and sweet malt, citrusy and earthy hops. Finishes earthy and bitter.
Mouthfeel: Rough texture, medium bodied.
Overall: A very malt forward Imperial IPA. Wasn’t my favorite from Sun King, but still solid.

not really sure how fresh this was. aromatics seemed weak. malt forward, some resin and piney, not mind-blowing.
