UPDATED: AUG 20, 2009 Draft at Spencerís Stadium Tavern. Pours golden with white head. This beer is a complete exercise of balance. You get a fruity hop nose with plenty of toasted malt. You get toasted malt flavor with some oraneg-ish flavored hops and a mild bitter finish. Light to medium body with a dry short lived finish. Flawless.

Poured into a pint glass. 4.0 A: Clear yellow light orange color. Two and a half fingers of frothy, but somewhat dense white head. Good retention and tons of lacing. 3.5 S: Overall pretty clean with neutral malt aroma. Hops are mainly floral in nature with some herbalness in the background. They arenít that strong, but very nice smelling. 4.0 T: Soft bitterness. Again, really clean with neutral malt. Slightly piney and grapefruit hops. 4.0 M: Heavier light to lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Very smooth and slight creaminess. 3.5 D: Not a bad brew and no problems. However, itís a bit too straightforward and perhaps a touch boring. Donít get me wrong, I really appreciate the craftsmanship here, but it just isnít that exciting. Serving type: can Reviewed on: 07-14-2010 23:55:36

Can. Pour is gold with a nice white head, good retention/lace. Aroma of grapefruit hops, bread, caramel malt. Taste is moderately bitter, grassy/citrus hops, bready malt. Palate is dry, soft, oily, with a nicely bitter finish. Drinks closer to an IPA, nicely dry and bitter.

Pour is clear darker amber with a tight light tan head. Nose has a bit of stale grain, toasted malt, dry caramel, and some herbal hops. Taste is strong caramel and some stale grain. Grassy hops, herbal tea like, a touch of metallic twang with assertive carbonation and a medium body.

LtDan (1806) - Los Angeles County, California, USA - AUG 21, 2010
Appearance: Pours an amber gold with a thin film at the top.

Aroma: Big zesty piney hop blast.

Taste: Bitter, earthy hops, slight spicy sticky malt, finishes dry and piney.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, fairly carbonated.

Overall: Reminded me of the hop and malt profile I find in Pacific North West beers. Not my favorite APA, but drinkable.

Can: clear gold with a quickly fizzling out white head. Nice grassy, peppery hops with flavors off tanginess. Not super hoppy. The finish has a weird zing to it, almost a little hairspray. Not bad but was expecting more.

jcos (1778) - Maryland, USA - JUL 10, 2012
Location/Date:Can on July 10th, 2012.

Appearance: Pours an orange copper.
Aroma: Light pine, citrus.
Taste: Medium bitterness, piney, some grapefruit.
Palate:Light body, lingering aftertaste.

Summary: First off, thanks Dave for getting the beer! This beer has a lot of flavor, especially for 5.6%. Something in the taste is just slightly short of greatness to me, and thatís why I give this a very good but not great rating. Maybe itís bordering on IPA land and so I want more.

MacBoost (1710) - Penfield, New York, USA - MAR 15, 2013
Pours a clear amber with a white head that turns into a lasting ring that does leave some lacing. Pretty pine forward in the nose. Taste is bittersweet - sweetly malty with a nice hop bite. Excellent beer.

Nephilium (1628) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - JAN 18, 2012
This starts with a strong grapefruit hop aroma, surprisingly strong for a pale ale. Pours a clear light amber, with an ample white head. This beer truly showcases hops, with a big punch of citrus, fading to a mild bitter finish. Thereís not much malt noticeable, just a touch of biscuit in the center. This is an outstanding Pale Ale, if you like hops.

16 oz can. Pours clear golden orange with a creamy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet biscuity malts with some earthy, fruity hops.

The flavor is biscuity malts with some spicy grassy hops and a little fruit. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, OK biscuity pale ale with decent hops.
