3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
16 oz. can served in a Kuhnhenn snifter. Big thanks to my mom for picking me up a 4-pack on her recent trip through Indy.
A: Pours a clear orange color with a thin, wispy white head forming on the pour. it recedes to a thin ring that leaves some minor splotches of lace down the glass.
S: Light grass on the nose with some mild citrus. Some fruity berry, akin to strawberries as you pass by them in the grocery store. Very faint, but you can pick them out. Light cracker malts with a touch of stale bread.
T: Lots of bready malts with the same light strawberry note coming through. A little sweet, but slightly watered down with a touch of grassy.
M: Light bodied with a medium carbonation level. A little bland on the finish.
O: This was alright. Decent enough to drink and it’d make a fine camping beer, but it’s pretty bland and forgettable overall.
Serving type: can

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 oz. can pours a clear light orange color with small white head ad good lacing. Aroma is full of citrus fruits, bready malts, and and a bit of pine. Taste is bitter, but not outrageously so, with some malt sweetness in the middle and some pine coming out in the long finish. Body is medium with average carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. A very good APA, and my first from Sun King.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From notes. First reviewed 7/7/2011. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass.
My pour is a transparent golden caramel color beer comes out of the can, creating a full, foamy white head.
Ah, a hoppy pale ale, I see where your head’s at. Tropical fruits and lots of grapefruit step in front of the pale malt in the nose.
The flavor starts with a light biscuity malt sweetness up front, then mango and grapefruit hop flavors, followed by a long, lingering bitterness that lasts a little long and rides well into the aftertaste.
The first thing I notice is that it is kind of grainy, maybe hop residue from the dry hopping. Medium body, above average lively carbonation.
This is fine, but nothing about it really blew me away. Maybe I was not in the right mode for this one. I would try it again to see if my palate changes.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2012 In the category of Daisy Cutter with a touch less edge and easier drinking. Pours a nice golden orange with a thin white head that fades fast and leave a trace of lace. Nice citrus and pine hop profile without being over bearing. A good brew to share with no craft fans as a gateway. A bit over priced for what it is.

Can from Omar! Pours a really nice golden copper with very nice medium head. Aroma is grapefruit and some orange peel, slight dank hop. Taste is more orange peel and some grapefruit juice. A little thin and then overly malty as it warms near the end of the taste. Nice session can pale.

16 oz. can to tulip. Pours a clear golden orange with a creamy off-white head that leaves some lacing behind. Nose involves some dust, hop notes of mostly spice, some citrus and light pine, hay and grass, with some biscuit and bread notes. Taste is quite bitter and lightly sweet. Medium bodied, tingly, prickly with bitterness. A nice, drinkable pale, if a little mild on the nose and flavor.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours an attractive golden with a thick white foamy head. This has a very nice piney aroma with citrus hops and a balanced floral bouquet as well. A crisp bitterness and a light graininess on the palate. The finish is rather long and bitter.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pale orange pour with a large white head...nice retention and lacing. Nose is mainly citrus, specifically mango and pineapple with some earthy hops and a bread dough malt backbone. Medium bodied...flavor consists of lightly spice citrus and very mild notes of toasted malts.
