Can. Sweet orange/grapefruit/pine hops and light malt aroma. Golden yellow color with large head. Sweet orange malt initially with moderately bitter grapefruit/pine hops finish. Solid APA.

Sweet trade bonus beer from StFun and my first Sun King rate! The 16oz can pours with a crystal clear deep gold body with copper hues and supporting a full nearly white head of foam. The aroma is citrusy with grapefruit, lime and tangelo and I’m also getting a light malt sweetness off in the background somewhere. The taste is pretty rich for a Pale with citrusy hop notes supported by mild malt sweetness and then a touch of biscuit malts. It leaves behind a nice hoppiness thinly rimmed with bitter resiny hops into the after taste. Not really a crisp sessionable Pale but it tastes pretty darn good.

At first sip it is tart and grainy but as you go it opens up. A pleasant bitterness lies underneath grain, tart but citrusy hops, and some spiciness.

Can courtesy of stfun. Pours copper with a lasting white head. Smells of some floral notes, dry malt, some funky touches. Tastes of sweet oranges, caramel, honeydew, some peppery hints and a spicy finish. zenjoyable.

Can. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with a light note of diacetyl. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Very little aroma, which includes some butter. Pretty thin, watery, and stark in the mouth...almost seems diluted. I wouldn’t go as far as to call it flavorless, as there is ample bitterness, but yeah...it’s surprisingly weak.

Can:   Vibrant orange, large fluffy white head, nice lacing, light carbonaiton.   Nose of semi-sweet pithiness.   Very much a citrus oriented Pale Ale.   Bright bitterness up front, not caustic, very smooth with a pithy background.   Decent malt base.   Seems very fresh.   Bitter but not overbearing.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes clean, and what Pale Ales should be, hoppy but not out of balance with the malts. &nbps Straight forward and solid for a Pale Ale.   Certainly matches up with PNW examples.   Thanks to Brigadier for the cans!

On tap at the Bloomington Beer Festival. Poured a clear dark gold with a white head. Aroma was full of citrus notes (orange) with underlying piney notes. There were more malts present in the flavor leading to a musty pine flavor with a touch of orange.

10/24/10. 16oz can. Clear golden color that hints at orange - pretty light - with a small fluffy off-white head that lasts and laces a bit. Really nice fresh hoppy aroma with lots of citrus and definitely pine - quite nice. Smooth but light flavor that is a little thin but does pack a bitter punch and some nice hop character as well.

16 oz. can at RapeBeer’s place. Thanks, Nico! Pours a mostly clear golden-amber-orange color with a small eggshell white head. Big floral hops, grapefruit and orange citrus, caramel malts, and some resinous piney and earthy notes. Flavor worked for me better than the aroma. Light-bodied, with a citrusy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not quite on the level of Alpha King or Daisy Cutter, but damn close.

Can shared by Bob - thanks! Citrus and pine resin aroma. Clean palate although a bit light / watery - not bad though. Fairly rich taste. Nice.
