From the can, dark amber/copper pour, aroma is minor peat with lots of malts, taste is very similar with a little maple. Good, but not great.

Tall boy can. Maple ruby pour decent head not a lick of retention. If Scottish Ales are Wee Heavy Lights then this is a Scottish Ale Light. Light on peat, malt, and caramel but still tastes pretty good.

Nice clean crisp beer without a lot of hop profile. Not a go-to, but not a run-from either.

Poured from a pint sized can. Notes of fruit, some sulfur, caramel, soft stone fruits. A touch bland.

Draft at the Fort Wayne release party at CS3. Probably my least favorite of the night. Not bad, mind you... just not great. Thin and mostly expressionless, the malts held my attention for just a moment, then I was ready to go back for another Timmie or Chocolate Cake. This would be nice to suck down the 4pk at the lake/party/wherever without much thought... and with the admittedly impressive canned artwork and "drinkability" (God I feel dirty using that damned AB catchphrase in a craft review), you might use it to pull a few more converts to the craft world. In short, its for non-think’n drink’n.

No. Brown. White head. Sweet malt musty on the nose. Tastes the same. Not pleasant.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a semi-transparent brown with off-white lacing. Smells and tastes sweet and malty with an average mouthfeel. Decent, but not memorable.

The aroma has a very faint carmel malty scent. The flavor contains malts, grains, minimal hops, and there is hardly any sweetness. Overall this drink is low to mildly bitter & its lacts any potent flavor. The Wee Mac is a good ale but it isn?t a memorable one for me.
