COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wee Mac is a Scottish style brown ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that is both smooth and malty wit caramel and chocolate tones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

Draft at MacNiven’s. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Smooth and drinkable beer that is more like a brown ale.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2013 Can @ home. Pours a bit hazy, red orange appearance with a cream colored head. Sweet, toffee, caramel malty, slightly citrusy, sweet creamy aroma. Somewhat cloying, sweet caramel, toffee flavor. Seems a little unbalanced to me. Grassy. Kind of weird.

Can… Clear, light copper ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. Malty, nutty bouquet – toffee, cashews, pistachios, mild biscuit and cocoa with a hint of nickel. Medium-bodied with dancing carbonation. The flavor is a totally quaffable merger of Scotch ale and English brown ale – lightly sweet praline and caramel with kisses of chocolate and roasted tree nuts. Short, crisp, refreshing finish. Kudos to StFun for providing a very nice example of my favorite style of beer!

Copper pour. Aroma is so mild that I was barely able to smell anything other than a light caramel note. Funny the flavor is much the same. Cant say its offensive, but its not really much of anything.

16 ounce can shared by BrewEngineer at Butters Slutfest 2.0, Richmond, VA, 4.23.11. Pours a clear medium brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention and lacing. Grainy aroma with a faint bit of caramel. The taste is caramel, grain and a cola-like note. Medium bodied. Not bad and fairly refreshing but weird for a Scottish ale.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 04/27/2012. Deep mahogany color with a medium off-white head that evaporates steadily. Spotty lacing. Caramel malt and citrus in the nose. Light to medium body with a sweet malty character and flavors of caramel, fruit and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a caramel and toffee aftertaste. Pretty average overall.
