3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Received in trade from phisigben, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a crystal clear solid copper brown color with a good sized creamy white head that slowly dissipates, but leaves some spotty lace in its wake. Now this beer is still quite cold, freshly poured after coming out of the "regular" refrigerator, but most of what I’m getting from the aroma is an almost tart fruitiness. As this warms it opens up a little and I get more malt with sweet caramel and toffee, bread, and hints of dark fruit. Taste is mild toffee and caramel up front followed by some tart and dark fruits for the dry finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick sugary mouthfeel. This one is a bit weird. There’s a tart almost metallic thing going on the aroma. The body is a bit to thin for the style and the flavor should have more rich caramel/burnt sugar maltiness in it, but it doesn’t. This one kind of falls short of expectations.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can. Grainy malt aroma. Clear chestnut with a small off-white head, some nice creamy lacing. As in the nose, the flavor is a heavy gainy malt with a very slight metallic bitter finish. Body on the light side of medium, moderate carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep mahogany hue. Inviting nose. Malt forward with rich elements of toast, peat and toffee. Wholesomely sweet, but not cloying. Hops are earthy and herbal, delicate and balancing. Not overly exciting, but tasty and well made.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can from a friend. Pours deep brown with a frothy head. The nose is toffy and cocoa, no real hop notes to speak of. On tasting, quite chocolatey, rich and malty overall, Very clean, medium-low carbonation. Light bitterness. Pretty nice overall.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pint can from Keg Liquors in New Albany, IN. Pours a mostly clear, deeper copper colored body with a finger-width, creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grainy, slightly nutty toast and toffees with a touch of chocolate and earth. Flavor is similar. Nutty, grainy toffees up front with a touch of dark fruit and cocoa in the middle. Finishes clean with a touch of toast and a light earthy bitterness. Medium length aftertaste following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, an easy drinking and clean beer. Not a whole lot of character, but enjoyable enough.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
16oz can, purchased somewhere in Zionsville, IN. A nice auburn-brown pour, with a quick fading head in pale chestnut flesh. Aroma comes as a standard English/Scottish brown, nutty, woody and ester infested. Flavors are fine in this vein too. Caramel, toast, mild brown malt. Okay. This is a very drinkable and mildly nuanced brown.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at the happy hour of the Staybridge Suites I was staying at (!). Pours dark brown with a bit of tan head. Nose is caramel and light toasted bready malt. Taste is the same--mostly dry but with enough caramel to balance it out and make it super smooth. Nice medium body that doesn’t get in the way yet gives it enough heft. Decent stuff--could drink a lot of this and not realize it.
