Wee Mac is a Scottish style brown ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that is both smooth and malty wit caramel and chocolate tones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2010 Another great offering by Sun King. Pours a light brown color with lots of amber. Just a hint of a head, and minimal lacing. Aroma is full of malts, toasted nuts, and a hint of warm chai. Flavor is incredibly balanced between the malt and the roasted nuts. Hints of yeast and caramel. Slight candy in the finish. Really good and sessionable.

Can. Caramel malt and hay aroma. Medium brown color with nice head. Sweet chocolate caramel malt and lightly bitter herbal hops flavor. Nice - on the sweet side.

Can shared by another patron at the Smuttynose tasting at Ale Wine & Spirits on 4/27/12. Clear amber pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, slight peat and alcohol. Malty flavor with caramel character and light hops in the finish. Was told this was a scotch ale and was underwhelmed. When I read that it was scottish, that made more sense. Not bad.

Can from a friend. Pours deep brown with a frothy head. The nose is toffy and cocoa, no real hop notes to speak of. On tasting, quite chocolatey, rich and malty overall, Very clean, medium-low carbonation. Light bitterness. Pretty nice overall.

Pint can. Pours a dark copper brown with a decent head. Strong caramel and nutty flavor. Both sweet and bitter. Smooth for a Scottish Ale.

Draft in the tasting room. Pours a light apple cider brown bolor with a smidge of head. Big dry malty nose with a roasted nut character. Big toasted malt and toffee with plenty of nutty character in the finish. Medium body and dry. Tastey

Deep mahogany hue. Inviting nose. Malt forward with rich elements of toast, peat and toffee. Wholesomely sweet, but not cloying. Hops are earthy and herbal, delicate and balancing. Not overly exciting, but tasty and well made.
