COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wee Mac is a Scottish style brown ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that is both smooth and malty wit caramel and chocolate tones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

Received in trade from phisigben, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a crystal clear solid copper brown color with a good sized creamy white head that slowly dissipates, but leaves some spotty lace in its wake. Now this beer is still quite cold, freshly poured after coming out of the "regular" refrigerator, but most of what I’m getting from the aroma is an almost tart fruitiness. As this warms it opens up a little and I get more malt with sweet caramel and toffee, bread, and hints of dark fruit. Taste is mild toffee and caramel up front followed by some tart and dark fruits for the dry finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick sugary mouthfeel. This one is a bit weird. There’s a tart almost metallic thing going on the aroma. The body is a bit to thin for the style and the flavor should have more rich caramel/burnt sugar maltiness in it, but it doesn’t. This one kind of falls short of expectations.

Dark brown, caramel in color. Medium head. Caramel aromas. Thick, creamy palate. Toffee & hazelnut flavors. Sweet, not much bitterness.

Pint can from Keg Liquors in New Albany, IN. Pours a mostly clear, deeper copper colored body with a finger-width, creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grainy, slightly nutty toast and toffees with a touch of chocolate and earth. Flavor is similar. Nutty, grainy toffees up front with a touch of dark fruit and cocoa in the middle. Finishes clean with a touch of toast and a light earthy bitterness. Medium length aftertaste following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, an easy drinking and clean beer. Not a whole lot of character, but enjoyable enough.

16oz can. Pours a dark copper/brown color with a thick fluffy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and toffee. Taste of light roasted malts, toffee, light citrus, and some sourness in the finish.

A decent Scottish, if not a great among the style. Pours a rather plain jane red tinged brown with decent light tan head. Nose is malty and a little spice. Spicy notes come out a little more in the flavor. Were this beer a little deeper in flavor it could be really very good. As it is, it’s decent.

From 16oz can. Pours a hazy brown/copper. Sweet aroma. Sweet malty taste. Scottish ales are not my favorite, but this is pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rated on 9-05-2009 at Sun King Brewery. This draft beer pours a small ivory head with a short retention, transparent amber body, no visible carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The Aroma is caramel malt and barely a hint of hops. Ditto for the Taste. The Palate is very smooth and this beer is medium bodied. This is a very easy drinking beer and one of my favorite styles, but unfortunately it came up short of having any type of WOW factor.

16 oz can poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of cocoa, caramel, earthiness and a hint of fruitiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of toffee, caramel and light earthiness with a crisp lingering toffee finish.
