COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wee Mac is a Scottish style brown ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that is both smooth and malty wit caramel and chocolate tones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

Nose of chocolate, caramel, light earthy notes. Moderately sweet and malty nose. Pours brown with a thin non lasting head and no lace. The flavor is chocolatey with caramel sweetness, nutty notes, and a slight bitterness. Moderately sweet and malt forward. Easy to drink but unspectacular.

On tap at St. Elmo. Pours a deep ruby/caramel with a thin, near tan head that leaves lacing. Aroma has soft notes of caramel, bread, and fruity esters. Taste is balanced. Caramel, fruit esters, slight bread. Medium body and carbonation. Clean and creamy in the mouth. Overall very drinkable with caramel and an English yeast taste.

"I love me some scotch ale when the weather starts to turn, and while this is a nice enough brew, a wee heavy it is not. 5.4%, and you can tell. Slight earthy hops, dark fruit, caramel, and maaaaybe a hint of peat. Pretty good, but I was hoping for a standout."

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2012 12/17/10. Can shared by fata2683 - thanks, Keith! Very light caramel aroma. The flavor is slight sweet caramel with a hint of roast and something that reminds me of plastic. Re-rate 1/18/12. Clear amber pour with a small khaki head. Light caramel aroma with a bit of metal. Sweet caramel flavor with bits of bread and toast and a touch of lingering roast. Nice. Up 0.2

16 ounce can, pours a cola color with a creamy off white head. Has the aroma of caramel, burnt toast, malt, and nuts. Flavor matches the aroma, that has medium carbonation, and a malty finish.

Can courtesy of motortoddhead. Deep brown red with fluffy off-white head. Toasted malt, light caramel, and a touch of plastic. Toasted malt, biscuit, grain, mild fruit punch, with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Pretty light on the palate.
