Wee Mac is a Scottish style brown ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that is both smooth and malty wit caramel and chocolate tones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

Pint can courtesy of StFun – Thanks big J! Muddy brown with a one finger tan head that faded fast. The nose is caramel and faint chocolate. The taste is caramel, dark fruits and light cocoa. Medium bodied. Not great, but happy to try it – thanks again Josh!

Pint can shared poured a light clear brown color with tan head. No lacing to speak of, the aroma is caramel malts with hints of chocolate malts slightly sweet malts. The flavor brings more of the same with the caramel and chocolate malts being predominate. Slightly sweet malts mild to medium body easy to drink.

Can, straight from the can. If this beer was green I’d have no idea. I assume its normal appearance so I gave it a 3 for that. Aroma is caramel malts, sugar/sweet with a hint of chocolate. Quite nice actually. Thats a 7. Beer is sweet, malty, no hops. Caramel/chocolate undertones. Pretty nice, smooth and easy drinker. Nothing spectacular. Probably a 6.5. I gave it a 6. Palate? I don’t have a fucking palate. Its easy to drink. 3. No idea how this is rated so poorly. Its not great but its certain pretty good, especially for the style. 3.4-3.6

Comes reddish brown with a small tan head. Mild aroma of malt, fruit, and caramel. Taste is similar. Somewhat sweet, but very drinkable. Too much like a brown ale. 1/15

Can, somewhere in Indianapolis I can’t remember. Weak, bland and all-together a bad experience. Would never go down this road again.

On draft at the happy hour of the Staybridge Suites I was staying at (!). Pours dark brown with a bit of tan head. Nose is caramel and light toasted bready malt. Taste is the same--mostly dry but with enough caramel to balance it out and make it super smooth. Nice medium body that doesn’t get in the way yet gives it enough heft. Decent stuff--could drink a lot of this and not realize it.

On tap at Hops & Pie. Clear amber appearance with a beige ring of foam. Mild aroma of peaty malts, earthy notes, light caramel/toffee and a touch of dark fruits. Similar flavor, mildly sweet with a touch of smoky bitterness. Average body, a little thin. OK.

Can, as pictured. Not bad, kinda thin, just malty, caramel, etc. Pretty sweet throughout, not a lot of balance. Ok beer, finely made but nothing special.
