Cask/Draft. Both the cask and draft had a good floral aroma to it. Cask had this creamy white head that seemmed to have some vanilla texture to it. Good lacing left on glass and head stayed with brew till finish. Flavor the cask was mellow with some dry citrus vine and chewy. Almost like chewing that last slice of fruit from the peel. Draft was little lighter and more bitter. Both good.

Tap at Papago Scottsdale AZ. Pale hazy yellow-very cold so not much nose. Taste is very and bitter with a subdued hop profile. Some cardboard flavors and a bit stale-this one just seemed a bit off. Alcohol is present.

On tap; poured a paler than normal gold color. Aroma of bread, caramel, earth and fruit. Flavor was more pronounced; not mind blowing but solid. Earth, fruit, bread, alcohol and a light sweetness. Solid

Gold pour. White head. Aroma is pine and citrus hops with a great tropical fruit note. Flavor is juicy and hoppy...a really nice double IPA. I love the tropical fruit flavors mixed with citrus and resin hops. Nice.

Pours a golden orange with a sticky white head and thick lacing. Aroma is citrus, pineapple, hops, malt, zest. Flavor is citrusy piney oily resiny hops, good dose of herbal bitterness balanced out by a large dose of malt. Really nice DIPA.

Sparky (2130) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAY 30, 2010
On tap at Papago in March. Pours clear dark gold with a thin white head and spotty lacing. The nose is sweet citrus and caramel malt. The taste is ripe citrus, toffee and a nice grapefruit bite in the finish that lingers for awhile. Medium mouthfeel. Nice IPA.

On tap at Pap. Deep orange-amber color with a big frothy head. Lots of citrus and pine hops with a good amount of caramel malt in the back. A nice IPA.

Sampled at 1702, December 2009
The beer arrives from the tap with a lightly hazy copper color. The head is a wispy, pale ring of a head. The damn beer is filled to the top of the snifter and I find it hard to smell a thing; light notes of tropical fruit, grapefruit and lychee as well as some alcohol are noticeable, but they are all much more faint than they should be (this is just more justification for my preference to have everything in a tulip glass filled no more than 2/3 full).

The beer has a nice bitterness to it up front; there is a pine-bitterness that tingles the tongue. It is also a touch more cold than I might prefer. The beer finishes with ample tropical fruit flavors. The hops in fact, because of the fruitiness, contribute a perceived sweetness. This really opens up as it warms up, it becomes much fruitier and there is a solid anchoring bitterness that is not too aggressive for a Double IPA. The body has some heft to it, perhaps a touch more than I might prefer, but it is still quite quaffable.

This is definitely a nice Double IPA. I like the ample hop-fruit character and tempering bitterness that this beer has. It is definitely a hop dominated beer, so if you are looking for malt then definitely pass this one by.

Really solid brew and highly drinkable (dangerous) for the style. 14 karat color with a frothy ivory head that left spotty lacing on the inside of the glass. Aroma is lemongrass, citrus pith, and ponderosa. Flavor is dominated by orange peel and tangerine zest, accompanied by a subtle caramel sweetness that accentuates rather than distracts. Medium to light body with ample carbonation. Bottoms up!!!
