750ml corked a capped bottle served in a Karmeliet tulip glass. A: Pours a clear (but bit hazy) copper color forming a medium thin bubbled yellow head. Medium retention and lots of lingering and molasses left in the glass. A thin layer remains forever on the top S: Sweet caramel, grapes, wood, whiskey, candy, bubble gum and alcohol. Perfect in the nose being a bit boozy to be just perfect. A very malty and fruity beer. The rye gives it a very smooth texture and balance. The cherry wood is just wonderful T: Very sweet and fruity upfront. Again, strong notes of wood, whiskey and grapes. The notes of rye are a must. It gives it a great texture and taste to the beer. Notes of candy sugar and roasted malts. Belgian bready yeasts. Spicy and complex. End is quite boozy. Light hops bitterness, as expected M: Heavy, creamy, smooth and molasses body. Light carbonation and a sweet, malty and woody aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Just another De Struise masterpiece [ BA Review @ 10/15/2013 ]

Rusty (1536) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - JUL 29, 2012
2012 batch. With cascade hops. Pours copper in color with a white head and lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is citrus, crystal malt and a touch of rye. Taste is juicy citrus cascade hops, malt, is slighty syrupy and sweet but the hop bitterness balances everything out. not sure how the previous years version of this beer tasted, but the 2012 version with the cascade hops is superb.

BOLTZ7555 (2823) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - NOV 13, 2011
Deep copper infused, tangerine pour with a 1/4 inch eggshell head that dimishes into a ring and leaves spotty lacing. Faint nose of hops, caramely malt, and spicy rye. Flavor shows tons of brown sugar, toffee, honey, and spice. Definitely breathing out some alcohol but actually not very distracting. Nice winter warmer...medium mouthfeel.

(Served in a snifter at the brewpub)m. Clear copper color with thin white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some spicyness. Taste is sweet with some spicy notes and bitterness. Thinner bodied with a sticky texture. Slightly bitter finish. Not bad, but missing something.
