Eight different malts and real vanilla bean create this dark and rich ale. Chocolate and toasted flavors contribute to the complex flavor of this full bodied ale.

Draft at brewpub. Black with a fair beige head, partly lasting. Bigger light body. Slick. Cocoa. Milk chocolate. Moderate roasted malt. Mild vanilla. Not Overly sweet, nor does the vanilla go overboard thankfully. Mild to moderate bitterness and roastiness. Lingering light roast and touch of vanilla. Tasty and refreshing. Would have it again.

Draft taster at the brewpub. Pours a deep brown with a medium beige head that settles into a lasting ring. A lot of vanilla and chocolate, with molasses, tobacco, and toast. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Not bad, but not complex, like the description promies.

Whoa. I didnít see that coming. Thatís good. Thatís really good. Granted, Iím using the Breckenridge vanilla porter as my base. The finish on this is sick, though. I donít typically like this brewery, but this and the White Russian are legit.

Black, creamy tan head. Great aroma - creamy vanilla and roast. Sweetish, mild, cafe au lait character. Medium to slightly light body. Bitterness balanced, but a little under-carbonated. On tap, brewpub.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep walnut, mocha cap. Aroma is better than the taste - sweet chocolate and roast. Taste introduces a bitterness that is just slightly unpleasant. Dry finish. Medium body. Overall, decent brew.

Sampled at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Vanilla on the nose blended with roasted malts. Good structure without being overly sweet. The roasted malts and chocolate flavors goes well with the vanilla.

Tap @ Sun Up. Pours a fairly clear, deep brown appearance with a light brown head. Big vanilla bean, chocolate, mildly roasty malty aroma. Somewhat thin, Vanilla Coke, dull chocolate, slightly toasty flavor. Tastes decent but thin and one dimensional.

Sampler. This reminded me of their special cherry wheat. Itís more like their black lager they currently offer, however. That, but sweetened with vanilla, which also covers any of the roastiness of the black lager. Itís like the cherry wheat in its medicinal quality. I actually enjoyed this a little bit.

Poured up on tap at Sun Up with black velvety light trapping darkness and mocha head. The aroma has a nice tasty smelling dark roasted maltiness, earthy chocolate notes, sweet vanilla and a touch of chili pepper like heat. The taste has nice rich notes of dark roasted malts, chewy sweet vanilla, winter flavored hard candy treats, a bit of coffee and chocolate malts. Nice robust full flavored Porter. I dig Sun Upís roastier brews.

(On draught at the brewpub). Pours darl brown with red hue and tan head. Aroma has some chocolate, vanilla, and a bit of coffee. Taste is sweet with some nice vanilla notes and a little roast. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Smooth, vanilla finish. Nice!
