Tap at Grünerløkka Mat- og Mikrobrygg Festival 2012. HAzy gold. Well balanced belnd of soft and ripe fruit - peaches, apricots and a sour Beligain edge. I could drink this for a long session!

Bottle at home. Has a hazy orange amber colour with a huge whipped eggwhite-like off-white head. Pretty carbonated. Fresh aroma with citrus, Belgian yeast, hay and spices that reminds me of nutmeg and coriander. Still lots of citrus in the flavour with spices and sweet pale malt on the way, and ends with grassy hops. Has a slick mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. A fresh and very Belgian ale, with a nice spicy and hoppy touch. Nice one!

Bottle. Pours a dark-hued, slightly hazy golden-orange body with a massive foamy white head. Nose is apricot, orange marmalade, citric peel, straw and hints of banana. Very inviting. Taste is citric peel, apricot, straw, white sugar, banana and hints of bitter herbs and alcohol. Medium body, high carbonation. Very nice and refreshing, but the aroma promises a bit more than the taste delivers.

On tap at the brewpub. A more or less clear one, golden in color and with a dense, white head on top. Lightly sugary nose with a solid dose of fruityness. Some spiced notes. Sweet flavor, still dry on the palate. Medium body. Nice bitterness both initially and in the end. Fruityness and a spiced touch as well. Certainly a beer I could drink a few of. 120505

In short: A fruity and medium-hoppy blond ale, very satisfying beer
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy blond body topped by medium white head with medium retention
In long: The nose is surprisingly intense with plenty of tropical fruits and tangerines over dry grassy hops and a bed of fresh cereals. Taste is clean, a bit tangy, plenty of fruits (fresh juicy apples, pineapples, oranges, passion fruits, grapefruits, more), plenty of fresh cereals and I suspect some Saaz here because of a dry grassy finish with a spicy twist. Bitterness of medium intensity with a moderately dry finish, this is a well balanced beer. Very nice mouthfeel, clean, full, lively. To me it tasted halfway between a superior hoppy Golden/Blond Ale and a fruity light Belgian Blond ale. Don’t let the name fools you, usually when a pub names a beer simply ‘blond’ it usually means a boring entry-level blond ale, this is not the case here. This is very drinkable and very satisfying ale. Enjoyed this beer during a quiet afternoon at this brewpub when there was only the waiter, the brewer and one weirdo drinking alone at a table, and I should stop calling myself names.
