Sugar and honey dominate in this light, corn colored Kolsch. Sticks true to the German style. Refreshing and summery - absolutely a solid light option.

A 50 cl bottle. A pale amber ale with moderate white head. Faint nose of apples. Crisp, light, fruity and refreshing. A bit of background malt and just a trace of hop. Medium length fruity finish. A nice and easy warm weather refresher. 3.4.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2014 Pours golden with a medium-sized head. Aroma displays well the characteristics of a proper bottom fermented ale; it is grainy and malty but features also hoppier notes such as herbs. Taste is also malty; light sweet at first, later drier but not really bitter. Grain and bread feature most. The palate is medium bodied, fuller than regular pale lagers, and slick and smooth. This was simple but quite drinkable traditional German beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2014 Aroma: Mostly dried hay with a good complement of grass/herbs; maybe a touch of honey sweetness, but this is by no means sweet overall. Appearance: Rich gold pour with a foamy white head that dissipates into a white, patchy ring; carbonation is visibly lively. Flavor: Starts out solidly with hay and moves into a lingering, but not strong, grassy perfume toward the finish. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, lingering semi-sweet finish. Overall: Pretty clean lager, but not a particularly noteworthy one. Pretty fresh bottle as well (best by 1/15).
