Flasche mit McTapps verköstigt. Gottchen, hatte ich Erwartungen. Ein anderes Kölsch ! Ein ungewohntes, ein im Ruhrgebiet kaum Erstehbares ! Am Ende einfach simpel, durchschnittlich mit ein wenig Malz und ein wenig zu viel Kohlensäure. Schade, ich wollte es lieben, doch am Ende wurden wir nur durchschnittliche Kumpels.

Bottle. Golden colour with low head and medium body. Nose of cereals. Taste of mild hops, ripe grains, mild apples and straw. Very average and nothing special, lacks deepness and character.

500 ml bottle into pint glass, 5/2012 date notched on the back. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a nice 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, cracker, floral, grass, bread, and light earthy hop spiciness. Damn nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity. Taste of lemon, apple, pear, cracker, white bread, floral, grass, light pepper, and light hop earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, bread, floral, grass, light pepper, and earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance of bready malt and fruity esters; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Very clean tasting. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Kolsch style. Very nice balance of flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable and easy drinking offering as expected.

From a keg at the Blackbird Cafe, Minnneapolis. Gold with a white head and just a little haze to the color. Malt and mild hops, with yeast in the aroma. Light and effervescent, but good flavor.

Bottle; gold, clear, white head; light aroma of hay and grass; malty, hints of lemon and lime; some hoppy bitterness at the finish; crisp and refreshing; a good if undemanding beer that seems perfectly designed to be sunk unthinkingly in gloriously huge quanitities.

Grassy notes, some grain, nice hop bitterness with some sweetness in finish. Very drinkable, lovely kolsch.

Beautiful light golden color with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is cereal grains with a mild sulphur note. Flavor is cereal grains with a bit of sweetness. Quenching, balanced, solidly middle of the road.

Tap at republic. Hofbrau like grassy and light. has an apricot aftertaste with no hint of wheat.

Bottled. Clear golden in color with whitish head. Buttery notes with some hay-like influence. A bit metallic first in taste, but get’s better when warming up. Floral notes in aftertaste.

Bottle. Initially skunked aroma with sweet, starchy, bready-grainy malt, a whiff of lemony hops and an interesting pear note. Light sweet malty flavour, watery body, some fruity and metallic hints in the light bitter finish. Nothing special.
