Bottle (From notes) Light straw colour with little aroma. Head disappeared quickly. A little bit on malt on some floral hops on the nose. Flavours are much the same. Carbonation is moderate. An ok beer but not much happenin here.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a small white head. Head recedes to a small film. very effervescent as lots of small bubbles race towards the surface and a few large bubbles meander upwards amongst them. Nose is a thick, heavy, burnt grain note with a small hint of straw and grass. Palate is fairly thick with a nice filmy feel and a carbonated, biting end. Flavors are grassy and the burnt grain note with a light sweetness mixed throughout. lovely.

Bottle: Pours a clear gold color with a light white head. The nose is toasty with some pale malt and light biscuit. The flavor is very malty; rich is toasty malts and light husky grains. Nearly no hops, but you can tell they’re there to balance. Finishes malty. Yummy.

My first kolsh beer. Light malt straw aroma with subtle spicy, grassy hops. Also can pick up some fruity esters, even some slight banana esters. Nice white frothy head with a medium to dark yellow color. Initial light sweet flavour with a slightly salty finish. Medium bodied with a dryish ale type texture.

Straw color with a steady flow of bubbles keeping the off-white lid alive through the entire bottle. Grass and light spice in the nose. Just a hint of dough and grain. Pale, raw barley and oat start. Full feel, but never cloying or heavy. Rather dry throughout with hints of light fruit (melon with a pinch of salt). Solid kölsch.

500 ml bottle. Köln, Germany. Clear golden colour with small white head. Malty, fruity and floral hoppy aroma. Some hoppiness and slightly stale maltiness in flavour. Bitter hoppiness in aftertaste.

Honey soaked hay nose with hints of oregano. Gold with a big frothy head. Slight sweetness, some nectarine fairly big Pilsneresque bitterness. Big carbonation, lighter medium mouth feel, fairly crisp spicy finish. Pleasant beer, the spicy hops really make this something special.

500 mL bottle poured into a pint glass. Budweiser colored, which I suppose is typical, with a creamy white cap of head. Aroma is grainy and lightly floral with a touch of lemon tartness. Flavor is a little less substantial. Some sweet bready grains, a whisper of citrus, and a crisp mineral finish. Thin, refreshing body, perfect on a scalding California summer day.

Bottle from the Binny’s in Plainfield, Illinois: It poured a clear bright yellow body with a tall and sustained head of foam. The aroma was sweet and grainy with some lemon and pungent grasses. The flavor had that sweet graininess with a touch of (and a tip of the hat to dm9831) banana, some lemon, and a light grassy bitterness. Tangy, refreshing lemony finish. Nice brew.
