Brewed in the long-brewing tradition Sünner after the German Purity Law of 1516. Spicy, aromatic taste, refreshing and wholesome. A product Kölscher real life.

Bottled 50cl. Side-by-side tasting: Sünner, Küppers and Sester Kölsch. Extremely pale appearance. Musty, refreshing, highly drinkable. Old socks, burnt match- and charcoal components showing up in both nose and taste. Fruity with apple being most present. Light bodied, crisp. Gooseberry sneaking in. A bit too sweet for my liking- residual sugars in the finish.

Poured straw blond with pillowyish head. Nose is kind of funky slightly citric. Body is thinnish. In the mouth it gives off a few fruity flavours though not too memorable in the finish. Nice easy drinking and a change to other euro lagers.

Bottle. Pours pale golden with tiny white head. Citrus and grassy hop notes. Flavour is citrus and grass. Fizzy on the palate with a short bitter finish. I’m sure it would have to be much fresher from the tap.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2015 Bottle (BB Mar 2016). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs), with notes of DMS and soap. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Still not very good (5 years since last trying it), and seemingly a very fresh bottle (with a new label). Husky and dirty. Drain pour.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2010 This poured a very clear light yellow color with white head and very light lacing. Nose is malty with some light fruit. The body is medium and the mouthfeel is smooth. Flavor leans toward the malts with some floral hops. Decent for the style.
