2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2009 (draught at Libertine) pours very pale yellow but a nice lasting head. Nose is cardboard, plastic, corn, mustiness and spices. Taste is wet corn husks, wet cardboard, light toasted grains.
While the beer itself isn’t fantastic, it is quite drinkable. A nice summer beer. Not sure why it is here in the dead of winter though :)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a small white head. Head recedes to a small film. very effervescent as lots of small bubbles race towards the surface and a few large bubbles meander upwards amongst them. Nose is a thick, heavy, burnt grain note with a small hint of straw and grass. Palate is fairly thick with a nice filmy feel and a carbonated, biting end. Flavors are grassy and the burnt grain note with a light sweetness mixed throughout. lovely.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Pours a clear gold color with a light white head. The nose is toasty with some pale malt and light biscuit. The flavor is very malty; rich is toasty malts and light husky grains. Nearly no hops, but you can tell they’re there to balance. Finishes malty. Yummy.

My first kolsh beer. Light malt straw aroma with subtle spicy, grassy hops. Also can pick up some fruity esters, even some slight banana esters. Nice white frothy head with a medium to dark yellow color. Initial light sweet flavour with a slightly salty finish. Medium bodied with a dryish ale type texture.
