3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Pours a crystal clear, pale yellow with effervescent head. Aroma is bananas and spice. Taste is clean, crisp. A good example of the style - great for summertime.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear golden colour with minimal white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy and malty. The taste is lightly bitter. It’s a very light bodied beer but very crisp. The finish is a little too abrupt for my liking.

The carbonation tickles your tongue and lights up a zesty peppery flavor in the beer. Kind of normal, but has a good strong flavor to it.

Tap at Bulldog NE. Another unfortunate glass to consume beer from. Taste is definitely crisp...typical of a kolsch but a very good representation of the style. Not a complex taste but the simplicity us actually refreshing. Slight, clean hops. An easy drinking spring/summer option.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Golden and clear, not much head. Bread, grass, herbs. Medium bitterness. Pretty refreshening but not too exciting. It’s my first Kölsch, hard to tell any special style characteristics from this. Tastes like a PIlsener to me. Probably best enjoyed during a hot summer day in the shadow of der Kölner Dom...

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours straw yellow with a greenish tinge, head and lace vanish quickly. Nose is that bready lemony, aroma typical of the style. A tinny, metallic taste hits the palate at first sip. That could indicate a storage problem. Subsequent sips show the tinniness to dissipate. It’s an okay Kolsch but unremarkable.

3.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: Transparent light golden to yellow, carbonation nicely rises up in many bubbles. S: German beer smell, hops. T: Some malts, fruitiness, really mild hops. P: Quite a bodied beer, compensated by nice carbonation. O: Very drinkable and refreshing with much more taste that normal lager.

Draft. ESTERS! soft esters with a mineral-like water note in the nose. Some pepper notes in the taste, with a drying-ish finish. Slightly bland.

Never had a Kolsch before. Tasted just like a German Pilsener. Simple beer, but a pleasant flavor.
