4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is the real deal, a perfect Kölsch. Bright golden color, thick white head, great foam retention, that true Kölsch aroma, full dry taste. For those of you who have never been to the city of Cologne, this is their beer style and Sünner still uses open fermenters to produce a fantastic beer. Do not rate this beer if you are unfamiliar with the style! This beer style is very unique and its nuances take a long time to discern. That wonderful Kölsch aroma from their proprietary yeast strain is unbeatable. A very delicate beer which deserves more recognition outside of Germany.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The appearance was a clear golden yellow color and leaves the same color body with a one and a half fingered white foamy head that leaves some lightly clingy lacing. There is some light carbonation that is seen rising at a nice pace.
The smell is light and grassy with a kinda herbal malty and corn combine sweetness.
The taste is sweet, crisp, and light. There isn’t any aftertaste or finish.
The palate is light on the body, and very sessionable. Carbonation sits just right for a Kolsch.
Overall, I got this beer for a dollar and thought it was more than worth the price as it was refreshing enough to have with its respected food and be an awesome beer on my backporch in the summer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Clear golden pour. Aroma is quite grainy, slightly soapy, some crispy hops and a bit of hay. Quite sweet flavor, slightly spicy bitter hops and a bit metallic. Not that impressive.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear golden colour with minimal white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy and malty. The taste is lightly bitter. It’s a very light bodied beer but very crisp. The finish is a little too abrupt for my liking.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The carbonation tickles your tongue and lights up a zesty peppery flavor in the beer. Kind of normal, but has a good strong flavor to it.

Tap at Bulldog NE. Another unfortunate glass to consume beer from. Taste is definitely crisp...typical of a kolsch but a very good representation of the style. Not a complex taste but the simplicity us actually refreshing. Slight, clean hops. An easy drinking spring/summer option.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Golden and clear, not much head. Bread, grass, herbs. Medium bitterness. Pretty refreshening but not too exciting. It’s my first Kölsch, hard to tell any special style characteristics from this. Tastes like a PIlsener to me. Probably best enjoyed during a hot summer day in the shadow of der Kölner Dom...
