Cask; Regular.
Citrus dominated IPA with a slight astringency in the first sip that warns you of what’s about to come and an enduring bitter finish (IBUs 65). Back end taste and aromas of tropical fruits from the New Zealand Kohatu hops with Dana hops giving the sensation of being smacked in the mouth with a jar of marmalade…. kinda like Bob Dylan on acid.
Malt: Maris Otter Pale, Crystal Malt & Bamberg Cara Aroma
Hops: Bravo, Cascade, Dana & Kohatu

Cask at The Haymarket. Pours hazy gold, creamy white head. Aromas of citrus hops, light tropical fruit. Taste is big bitter, malt sweetness comes up the back though to finally balance things out. Medium body, bitter finish. Good.

330 ml bottle. L13168. BB 06/14. From alesbymail.co.uk.
Came out of the bottle like a Vauxhall... or even quicker. Clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Homebrew yeast and hops in the aroma. A mess of yeast, sweet malt, biscuits and some hops. The flavour is a bit more enjoyable but still there’s quite a lot homebrew vibes there. Mild bitterness, sweet malt, biscuits and some hops there. So far I haven’t had a pleasant experience from Sunny Republic. Maybe some day...

Cask; gold, clear, thin white head; tropical fruit aroma; tastes smooth, some soft citrus - lemon, lime; moderate bitterness; prickly hops; this was a grower: a third of a pint in and I’d written it off as one-dimensional with a ’challenging’ hoppiness, but it opened out into something supple, mellifluous and moreish; more good, interesting stuff from an ever dependable brewery.
