COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
If you like to be different and enjoy your beers a little maltier than our Blonde this is for you. A beautifully red hued ale with fruit and berry aromas. We are the first brewery in the world to brew with Hibiscus Flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa). The hibiscus is designed to lift the drinkability of the beer and add to the red hue provided by the Munich and Chocolate malts.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2012 Had on cask at Pivni’s. One of my favourite reds. This brewery really respects the need for a strong malt balance to the floral and fruit component. I never stop at just 1 pint with this ale.

A tale of two beers. Chocolatey smell and then the fruity taste. Tastes almost like honey. Big fan! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Despite the description, this beer is not outlandish in floral or fruit character, but is a lively, fulfilling pint, carrying citrus and malty notes into a long finish, somewhat reminiscent of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, the American brew. Fantastic satisfying ruby ale.

On cask at The Haymarket. Pours a beautiful golden ruby colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of treacle, red berries, caramel and biscuity malt. Similar flavours with the sweet and spicy hibiscus flowers coming through to finish. Nicely dry and bitter. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Lovely!

Cask conditioned handpump Market Porter London 17/07/12. A dark brown coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. A nice fruity hoppy beer. Heading towards a US amber but just short on the hoppy stakes. Having said that there are good fruits and good hops with a nice body and no silly sweetness. Pretty tasty.

On tap @ the Haymarket Bar, Edinburgh. Pours amber to red with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has an intriguing blend of biscuits, cake mixture and a building dried fruit note towards the end. The taste has more of the same but more going towards toffee and biscuits. The palate is medium bodied with a nice crunchy and tangy texture and an elegant finish. Overall, a lovely bitter.

Half in pub on Wandsworth Common. Colour is clear brown/red with off white head. Nose is lots of red berry fruit, malty, chocolatey, new world hoppy, floral. Taste is sour red berry, chocolate malt, but light and some hop bitterness. Really nice new world style beer with good balance between red fruit and chocolate malt.
