2L bottle fresh from brewery. Awesome very dark black hue with dark coppery tinge, small dark caramel dense head fully diminishing, some lacing. Strong coffee, roasted/toasted/almost burnt malt, chocolate, mild tobacco light vanilla aromas - very agreeable. Moderately to strong sherry sweetness, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, long warm soft velvety finish. Not quite in the outstanding category but very nice indeed. Very drinkable.

Pours black with ruby edges, tan head mostly diminishing. Coffee/chocolate aromas, quite strong vanilla tones and some weak caramel. Flavour is incredibly smooth, vanilla mingles with chocolate and toffee in the mouth. Very pleasant to drink. Burnt malt flavours come in right at the end. A very balanced, easy to drink flavourful beer.

(Plastic bottle 50 cl) Pours black and almost opaque with a vague tint of orange and a dense, beige head leaving some lacework. Aroma of licorice and coffee. Medium-bodied with sweet notes of salt licorice and coffee. A short, dry finish with a discreet bitterness. Very decent. 120208

Bottle 50cl. Very dark (black) body with small head. Coffee and roasted malt in the nose. Roasted malt dominated the nice rounded flavour.

Tasted 2006 from old notes. v dark, off white head. Roasty, toasty burnt nose, nice coffee crema head. Dark malts, roasted nuts and coffee notes. Moderate creamy nice semi dry round finish.

Dark pitch balck in colour with small toffee white head. Oliy hoppy flavour almost like olives. Mild bitterness.
