2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice golden brown colour with a tan head. Aroma has faint malt to it. Taste is weak but alright for a regular beer. Nothing to see here.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can. Malty caramel nose. Medium-bodied, some depth. Sticky mouthfeel gives way to cough drops and water, but the flavour hangs around. Six percent alcohol neatly hidden. Not exactly a rich autumnal ale, but pretty good cost-performance.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Soap, metallic smell. Caramel malt, roasted cereals, mild hops, sweet watery finish. Surprisingly rich and malty for a Suntory happoshu.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml can from local Yamaya store. Syrupy, candy factory aroma. Maple or dark brown tea color. Mild brown sugar sweetness’ goes flat in mid palate; final has mostly just some alcohol warmth. Thin body, with very noticeable carbonation. Pretty lousy overall. This is a seasonal happoshu (includes spirits). It does have a bit of flavor, and it’s not really offensive -- as many happoshu are.
