While drinkable enough for a daisan, its still skunky to both your mouth and nose.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Can from Kitchen Court supermarket in Kagurazaka. Pours very pale and clear golden amber with a huge white head. Nose is not promising. Bit of sulphur in the head, then dry macro lager yeast, some lemon hop, cereal grain and cardboard. Taste is surprisingly soft, watery and lacking carbonation. One of the most watery lagers I’ve had. Some dry lager acidic prickle and grain, but not much else. Bit soapy on the finish too. Poor lager.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml can, got it from my mother-in-law as she probably liked the fireworks images that it has on the can (probably a special design for hanabi season). Pours clear, extremely pale, only a hint of yellow in a free flowing liquid. Head is massive at first but reduces soon into low layer of white artificial-looking bubbles. Aroma has some sour piss and sour apples. Some malts. Taste has corn, you can feel the carbonation and some corn sweetness. Finish is mildly bitter and watery. For happoshu this is actually not so bad, almost feels like an average industrial beer, with no special character. Only almost though.

1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Very pale in appearance. Smell was almost metallic. Bubbles soft with no impact. Sweet and easy-drinking but sourness also there. Tasted slightly chemical as temperate rose.

Can(Tokyo, "Rich Malt")
Clear golden color, decent white head. Aroma has light sweetcorn aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Malty, clean, sweetish flavor with low bitterness. No faults, actually something to drink with food.

1.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
350 ml can as “Suntory Rich Malt” bought at YATA in Grand Centry Place, Mong Kok.
Piss pale golden colour; One-quarter finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Near zero lacing and fizzy carbonation; Slightly pungent smell of thin malt, with sugar, unknown chemicals and notes of grass; Light sweet taste of thin malt, with soda water, very light grains, sweetener, faint lemon, chemical bitterness and notes of grass; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is very artificial and chemical beer-water, with super-thin maltyness, diet coke-like sweetness reminiscent of aspartame and some weird chemical taste. Bad… Hoppiness is grass notes in nose and taste. Bitterness is thin, fake and chemical, just teeth-melting aspartame finish; Wet after taste. Easy but weird to mouth.
Comments: Another poorly-made Happoshu-cum-beer water, and this one manages to bug me even more with lots of chemicals. I feel sorry for Japanese customers who have to put up with stuff like these. Awful!
