2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 pappaushi (13) - - JAN 29, 2013Kin Mugi has been a great success in Japan in terms of overall sales since it’s release. I find it a nice autumn/winter low malt standard. Good hop delivery and nice appearance when mugged. The head is short lived as with all low malt beers.
Not so good in the summer...has a bit of heaviness, in flavors and dryness. A great week end beer very affordable for autumn / winter.

Can@Home. Pale grainy unappealing lager. Almost no head, disappearing quickly. Drain pour.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 dalekliz (776) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Can. Pours a clear pale yellow, very bubbly. Yeasty aroma, with malt. Taste is very sharp, of bready yeast, malt, grass. Lingering sharpness. Drinkable, but that’s it.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 maekchu (1086) - Hirakata, JAPAN - OCT 26, 2012
Can. Typical pissy happoshu spirits nose. Gold color with weird slow bubbles rising, as if through olive oil. Harsh chemi-grass initial; mid palate adds very little; final is a thin coating of blah... Thin-medium body, with some sharp gassy tongue bites. Pretty bad. Why do I keep trying these lousy excuses for beer? It’s not as if any are good; just that some are less worse than others.

You know for happoshu it ain’t bad. Thinish, malt driven pale with a soft bitter finish. Decent approximation of Super dry for nearly half the price. Wouldn’t drink myself, but you could do a lot worse.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 DruncanVeasey (6112) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2011
Can pulling out of Namba Ocat, Osaka, The Japans. Shiny blue tin with gold piping. Sour malt, slight waxiness, boiled corn aroma. Clean and anonymous with a dominant Butterkist note despite the rich malt claims; traces of lemon and wet dough. ’Enjoy rich taste in relaxing time’ indeed.
1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Stew41 (1572) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - JUN 20, 2011
’’Rich Malt" eh? All I get is a watery mess that barely tastes like beer should, let alone one that carries 5% of alcohol. Some drying bitterness otherwise nothing. Would not have been surprised if I was told this was a zero ABV beer.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 jdjuice (284) - Kumamoto, JAPAN - OCT 9, 2010
Pretty gross, even for happo-shu. Has a slight, unpleasant sourness that gives it a unique taste, but not in a good way.

330ml can. Vibrant gold colour with a crackling neat white head. Bright and clear when poured into the glass with aromas of malt dominating the nose. Fairly thin and basic in the mouth with not a lot of flavour or mouthfeel. Okay without being outstanding.
