2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
Kin Mugi has been a great success in Japan in terms of overall sales since it’s release. I find it a nice autumn/winter low malt standard. Good hop delivery and nice appearance when mugged. The head is short lived as with all low malt beers.
Not so good in the summer...has a bit of heaviness, in flavors and dryness. A great week end beer very affordable for autumn / winter.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can pulling out of Namba Ocat, Osaka, The Japans. Shiny blue tin with gold piping. Sour malt, slight waxiness, boiled corn aroma. Clean and anonymous with a dominant Butterkist note despite the rich malt claims; traces of lemon and wet dough. ’Enjoy rich taste in relaxing time’ indeed.

Can, Kin Mugi means "Golden Barley". Clear golden colour, medoum fairly well lasting white head. Mild malty aroma with grassy hops. Ok mouthfeel. The flavour is mild with some bitter hops, light sweetness and some maltiness. Dry finish.

Cold piss smell... Overly sweet malt, then some dirty straw, unpleasant sour-sweet finish. A hangover superstar, not my cup of tea nor my pint of beer...

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
I can see why they call it rich malt, for being an asian lager, it is fairly sweet and malty. Pours very standard clear golden, maybe a couple shades darker than normal. Nose has more sweetness, caramel to it. Taste is slightly sweet, grassy hops, enjoyable, but nothing to write home about.

You know for happoshu it ain’t bad. Thinish, malt driven pale with a soft bitter finish. Decent approximation of Super dry for nearly half the price. Wouldn’t drink myself, but you could do a lot worse.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
330ml can. Vibrant gold colour with a crackling neat white head. Bright and clear when poured into the glass with aromas of malt dominating the nose. Fairly thin and basic in the mouth with not a lot of flavour or mouthfeel. Okay without being outstanding.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Can. Typical pissy happoshu spirits nose. Gold color with weird slow bubbles rising, as if through olive oil. Harsh chemi-grass initial; mid palate adds very little; final is a thin coating of blah... Thin-medium body, with some sharp gassy tongue bites. Pretty bad. Why do I keep trying these lousy excuses for beer? It’s not as if any are good; just that some are less worse than others.
