Roasted malt aroma, a little soapy. Caramel malt flavor, hints of red fruit, herbs, bittersweet finish. A tad better than the usual version, has a bit more crisp despite still being quite watery.

przyjemny, ziołowo-karmelowy zapach. kolor ciemno-czerwony, pod światło rubinowy. piana beżowa, średnio trwała. w smaku pełne, karmelowe, wyczuwalny przypieczony chleb, goryczka dość niska, ale przyjemna

350 ml can from a supermarket near my house. Pours nice with a big head. Color is dark amber, looks actually pretty good. Slight aroma of soap, some sweet corn. Taste is quite soft and smooth. There is some roasty malt flavour but this feels to be somewhat mellowed down. It says "blend" on the can and I guess this means it is a mix of usual Premium Malts and some Suntory-produced dark beer. If not so, it still certainly tastes like this. Overall, not off-putting in any way, but not good either.

Drunk from the can at Matsukawa Saketen, 260 yen. An amber color with a a malty, nutty, sweet taste & a light body but fairly balanced. Better than I expected.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2014 Had this again and it was much better. The glass? Decent all-malt Vienna. Can. Reddish amber. Nose of caramel and some metal. Slightly more caramel malt flavor, with something like dirty bitterness. What are they thinking? This sucks.

Can. Has a bit of malty depth to it, and a decent mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, semi-ripe fruit. Creamy and rich, but the flavours didn't really grab me. Autumnal I guess, but the other two Premium Malt's, are far better, especially on tap.

Can from 7-11. Warm roast grain nose, with some light extract-like stink. Pretty reddish-brown color. Mild grainy roast malt initial / rises into a moderate fruity tanginess and then flattens quickly / final is a bit unpleasant, with light hop bitterness and some metallic notes. Thin body. Hmmm.... this is a blend of regular Premium Maltís and Premium Maltís Dark (two beers blended -- or more likely just dumped together > then lagered > then filtered). Itís like an underdone Vienna. Looks like an amber, but....
