Draft. A generously malted lager. The result of which is perhaps a sweetness a bit much for my palate.

On draught machine at United Airline’s lounge at Narita airport. Pours a clear gold with thick white head. clean aroma with slight hops presence. Moderate carbonation with fine bubbles. Early mild hops bitterness followed by soft hoppy flavor paired with mellow pale malt. No big rice notes or dry finish. Actually very tasty.

jdjuice (329) - Kumamoto, JAPAN - APR 29, 2010
Fresh on tap at the Kumamoto brewery. Quite different from canned/regular tap versions. Hop flavor is much more pronounced and tastes fresher. Actually quite a nice beer at the brewery, and you’re allowed three glasses of it after the free brewery tour. Canned version is around a 2.6.

bartazo (87) - Esztergom, HUNGARY - APR 18, 2010
0,33 literes dobozos kiszerelés. Gyorsan elszálló hab alatt világos arany test. Illatában a maláta uralkodik, melyet megtör egyfajta kovász aroma. Ízére szintén a kenyér ízű maláta jellemző melyhez kissé édeskés szőlőhéj íz kapcsolódik, s ezt az egészet körbefonja egy keserű komlósság.

Tap and bottle. Light gold pour with pretty long lasting white head. Light on the nose - grass and some spice. Light body but nice balance of bitterness, sweetness and malt. Goes well with Japanese raw fish.

Pale gold, small white head, dusty surface cover with some spotty lacing. What the hell is this???? Doesn’t really smell like beer.. stolen description: citrus spice dust. Sour, drinkable but not really beerish. Odd grain? Touch of apple, lightly spiced hops, taste is getting better... orange.... well I guess this ain’t terrible. Decent finish with a short bitterness.

Wombata (456) - Kobe, JAPAN - OCT 4, 2009
Appearance: Yellow with gold tint. Aroma: Slightly floral with grapefruit rind--not very aromatic. Flavor: Light-medium malt with some bready/yeasty character. Moderately sweet fruit (ripe orange) plus bitter grapefruit rind. Comment: The palate shows a nice initial attack of malt, bittering and carbonation followed by a little sweet malt with the flavor rapidly fading on the finish. What little malt/hop integration there is quickly falls apart as it warms even just a bit. A sign of a not very well-made beer.
