3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle, clear sparkling yellow colour, moderate somewhat persistent rocky head, decent lacing. Aroma of light bready malts and bisquit with moderate floral hops with a note herbs. Taste is initially light sweet and moderately bitter with a longinsh moderately bitter finish with an astringent feel. Dry mouthfeel, light to medium body, lively carbonation. A very decent pils, not really any surprises aside for that it actually easily matches and even surpasses many of it’s Central European equivalents.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUL 28, 2013 Pale lager like clear orange beer with a quickly dissolving head leaving lacing on the glass. The aroma is strongly malty but not in a grainy clean way. It’s almost sour and unpleasant. Thereâ’s also some hay and vegetable kind of aromas as well. The taste is mostly just the unclean maltiness with some crisp bitterness on the medium long finish. Leaves a floury yeasty feel to the mouth. Highly carbonated and thin body.

Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Having been in Franconia for three weeks prior, this had big shoes to fill. But I’ll be damned if it wasn’t up to the task. Bright, fresh, balanced, clean, and ridiculously quaffable...it’s hard to ask more of a pilsner. And 4.2% abv??? Seriously? Fantastic.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2013 Draft and bottle at Suomenlinnan Panimo.
Floral lemon German hop aroma with a substantial calcium / phosphorus / mineral character. Lightly sweet, lightly yeast, a bit pasty / papery at times. Vibrant lemon oil expression from the hops. Assertive bitterness and pithiness. Creamy carbonation, soft malt, hops are shining. Quite good. First bottle sample was a bit strange to get into, but fresh on draft showed a lot more life.
