4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle and draught (at Suomenlinnan).
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is medium to dark yellow.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), with a note of pepper.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Having been in Franconia for three weeks prior, this had big shoes to fill. But I’ll be damned if it wasn’t up to the task. Bright, fresh, balanced, clean, and ridiculously quaffable...it’s hard to ask more of a pilsner. And 4.2% abv??? Seriously? Fantastic.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Ppirs just short of a clear golden yellow body with a frothy, well lasting white head. Nose has notes of hay, some florals and touch of honey. Taste is dry with a nice bitter finish, a little metallic note as well. Lively carbonation and light but not watery palate. Quite nice and refreshing, decent bitterness and some aroma hops that separate this from the basic light lager. Palate is surprisingly good as well despite the low ABV.

(Bottle, Oak Barrel, Helsinki Airport, 26 May 2015) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fresh nose with notes of bread, grass, hay and grainy malt. Malty taste with bread, hay, grass, a touch of peaches, some vanilla and a balanced grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh and tasty pilsener. Quite enjoyable.

Tap at the brewpub. Poured a hazy straw colour with a few bubbles. The aroma is light malt light hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a citrus hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Light bodied with lively carbonation. I wasn’t expecting much but it wasn’t so bad.
