3fourths (7063) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Bottle at Suomenlinnan Panimo.
Chestnut brown body with a medium-sized off-white head. Lots of bread crust, some cramel syrup, slightly grainy / raw smelling early on, turning more towards juicy orange and pine resin. Clean profile. Low sweetness, good acid, lingering malt syrup coating in the finish with bran and cereal grain and a small touch of burnt caramel syrup. Still a minor complaint. Again we have good body, no off-notes, very fresh tasting, all flavors expressive but balanced. Yeehaw!

Nice ESB! Dark bronze colour, good thick persistent head. Aroma is caramel and chocolate with some herbal hop. Flavour first out of the bottle seemed to have a metallic hint but it’s gone now. Good dose of malt, caramel and a tad of chocolate but with a heavy hit of bitter and herbal hops. It is not a massive hop bomb, but being called a "winter ale" I was expecting more malts. It is as if the "winter" meant more hops! Doesn’t taste the 6.2% abv, instead it is very full bodied and a tad sweet. Very good, could have a few of these.

Marduk (1326) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 5, 2013
500ml bottle. Deep red caramel color. Small off-white head, stays. Caramel, malty, hoppy, slightly buttery aroma. Malts, hops, caramel, aromatic acorn in flavor. At first terribly bitter, but mellows down as it warms? breathes.

BitchPls (259) - FINLAND - MAR 4, 2013
Clear, amber/dark brown beer with a medium beige head. Mild sweet fruitiness and a hint of tobacco ashes in the nose. Lots of caramel. Fairly bitter with a soft and soapy mouth feel. Not very much carbonation. This has something very nice yet something bland in it at the same time. Good enough that I’d drink it again.
