2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 29, 2005
(Bottle 25 cl) I thought Des Fagnes filtered their beers, but this golden beer is slightly hazy with yeast even on top of the head. Fruity with a pronounced sweetness, almost overly sweet. Go for their Brune instead. 190702

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 29, 2005
(Bottled) Slightly hazy golden color with a smll but lasting head. Very fruity, yeasty, sourish but sweet grapefruit aroma. Sourish, medium-dry, fruity and slightly papery flavor. A touch of alcohol, but it’s not disturbing. Medium-bodied, quite foamy-carbonated palate. A quite mediocre blonde, but pretty balanced still.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 schuimkroaat (410) - Leuven, BELGIUM - JUN 16, 2005
25 cl bottle, bbe June 2006. Crystal clear, light amber, unusually large bubbles in the pearling and in the frothy, slightly off-white head, which is relatively unstable. Rich bouquet of aromatic hop flowers with some sweetness in the background, but finishing with rubber-like notes. The flavour is rather dry and somewhat flat, revealing caramel and metallic notes, which are retronasally even more expressed. Light acidity, light spiciness and fruitiness. A pleasant summer beer, but not much more.

Bottled 25cl (BB 04/2006)
Hazy yellow with medium white head with big bubbles. Aroma has dominantly cardboard then some grassy and coriander notes. Salty bitter flavor in the start, palate has overflowing coriander and hoppy flavors. Juicy but hard and salty finish. Outlook and aroma don’t promise much but this is really enjoyable blonde.

Shiny warm-golden color with lively caracter and airy white head. Intens nose with very fresh accents like mandarine, apple, Reine Claude, faint hint of chlorophil, honey, rice-crispy’s and pils malts. Clear, dry and very refreshing mouthfeel with accents of fresh citrus, some mint, birch-wood, pils malts and a very good hop selection. At best whin served cold. The afthertaste just great and very refreshing.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PetetheMeat (621) - Hove, DENMARK - NOV 19, 2004
Golden beer, white weak head with big bubbles. Hard carbonation. Malty sweet aroma with elements of hops and yeast. Mild, but hoppy dry flavour. Some underlying malty sweetness. Overall good.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Indra (2476) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - NOV 4, 2004
25cl bottle, served in Super des Fagnes glass (which is actually a pretty cool glass, see picture). Aroma is sweet, lightly perfumed and floral, also quite fruity with notes of pear, melon and pineapple, some honeyish malt sweetness and a light-moderate amount of doughy yeast. Cloudy, light-medium golden color (yeast poured), with a lasting, fine, frothy head. Flavor profile starts with a burst of juicy, fruity sweetness, tropical and nicely varied, then turns quite bitter and peppery before the yeasty, lightly alcoholic finish. Mouthfeel is effervescent but smooth, body is medium-full. Integration of the substantial bitterness left something to be desired for sure, but otherwise a fairly good Belgian ale.
