MiP (13573) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - FEB 29, 2008
Bottle, 7.5%. Fruity aroma, hint of brown sugar. Very dark brown colour, seems clear. Big, stable, creamy, rocky tan head, leaving nice lace. The flavour is quite malty, a little sweet, some roasted malt notes and a little alcohol. All in good balance. The roasted notes are the best part of this beer, quite nice.

Boutip (4656) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 8, 2008
Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with some dry fruits and some spicy yeast. Taste is also dominated by some candi sugar and spicy yeast with a nice enough malt backbone. Carbonation is great with a slightly thin body for the style and no apparent alcohol.

Brouwser (119) - gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 4, 2008

Dark brown color, with a rocky beige head, leaving laces, sweet malty, fruity nose of plums, dates, and dried sultanas, with some herbal notes, hint of lavender, with some toffee and brown sugar notes, a subtle nutmeg spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, sweet toasted and caramelized malt character, with a mild surupy molasses accent, with some fruity, raisiny, plummy notes, brown sugar, a subtle nutmeg spiciness, hint of toffee, a bit buttery too, leading towards a sweet malty warmth finish.
