Sample shared with Jo and Seb. Aroma: roasted malt, chocolate, herbacy, ashes a tad. App: dark brown, beige head, not much lacing. Taste and palate: medium to full body, smooth, light to medium sweetness, light bitter and extra dry finish. Overall: I like it. Maybe not a full bottle for myself but a sample like this is pretty good. Like the dryness of this one.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a small dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt notes with some black chocolates and light liquorice notes. Taste is also a mix of roasted malt with some black chocolates notes and some light liquorice. Some residual sugar notes were also perceptible. Body was about average with nice creamy texture with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Quite enjoyable but not as complex as I had wished.

[6835-20141009] Bottle. Fragrant spiced herbs aroma is a little like cocoa anise. Black body with a long-lasting creamy tan head. Roasted charred red peppers flavour. Full body. Interesting background notes of what must be the cocoa nibs. (7/4+/7/4/15) 3.7

750 ml bottle. Pours a ruby reddish black with a beige-brown head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, hazelnut, coffee. Flavor is loads of milk chocolate, hazelnut, roast. Finish is tons of chocolate, some bitter cocoa. Medium to full body, velvety, soft mouthfeel, average carbonation. May be a tad bit lacking in complexity, but...sooooo gooood!!

Near black with a nice pillowing tan head that is creamy and light. Aroma is cocoa, chocolate. Spices, herbs, and roast dominate, milk chocolate. Not particularly bad, but a bit too heavy in the spices. Thanks Pat!

Dark brown with a good light brown head. Aroma is root beer, ginger, liquorice, fig, Jaegermeister. Medium bodied, slightly slick mouthfeel, herbal finish. Taste is very herbal, root beer, liquorice, medicine. Not a fan.

[My bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o Glouglouburp] Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with an average size lasting frothy beige head. Slightly mild but nice aroma of sweet roasted malt, fruit, cocoa, a touch of sourness, some spices, coffee and licorice. Flavour: Wow, awesome! Roasted malt, cocoa, a good amount of spice, yeast, licorice and more. Medium bodied. I effin’ loved it!

2014-10-09. Black body with a nice smooth foamy head. 4++ Aroma of dry dusty roast, some spice as it warms. Almost anise like. Flavour is similarly fairly dry, with light fruity tangy touches. Light cocoa. Hints of spice? Maybe? Smooth average plus bodied palate, moderate carbonation. 3++ Enjoyable but doesn’t really tempt me back for more. Bottle shared by Blankboy

September 9, 2014 - shared by blankboy with me, jercraigs and mabel. Essentially black pour with a beautiful large lasting creamy tan head (4+). Pretty standard impy, with some extra cocoa character - don’t get a lot of spice (4-). Taste oh yeah, there’s the spice a little earthy too, some heat in there! - damn, almost a 9. Slightly light body, slick, seems acidic but probably isn’t, just spice-hot ... finishes a little gritty and quite tingly. Really really like it.
