Vanilla forward, but mildly sweet mead. This was a pleasure and went down easy.

Batch #4002, Bottle #241/360
Tasted on 9/27/14 from a swing-top 750mL bottle, big thanks to Chuck for sending this. Pours clear pale straw, no head or lace. Nose is straightforward honey and vanilla with some alcoholic heat. The flavor is even more vanilla forward, with the honey nice and dry, and nice acidity balancing the vanilla. The body is full with a long straight up vanilla finish.

A vanilla lovers dream...a perfect use of Tahitian vanilla (over Mexican, Madagascar, bourbon, etc) as the caramel notes blend excellently with the honey. Sweet, but finishes nicely to make way for another sip.

Bottle share courtesy of Dak, thanks! It pours with a clear gold body. The aroma offers up sweet honey goodness, a touch of brown sugar notes blending into a touch of vanilla. The taste is yummy rich smooth sweet honey flavor flowing into a touch of booze and then a modest level of sweet vanilla. Wow. This works very well.

Royal golden pour with an aroma of lovely vanilla and with some earthy notes. Taste is vanilla and honey sweetness. Well balanced on the sweetness - not overly sweet, but not dry either.

Nice honey smell and taste. Very light vanilla though; wish there was more vanilla taste to it. My sentiments were echoed by my peers at the tasting. Hopefully they put more vanilla into the next batch. Anyways, it hides the 13.5% ABV well and there is very little alcohol taste or warmth. Great mead for lovers of sweet honey.

Bottle shared during a mead tasting hosted by daknole. Typical honey-sweet nose with light vanilla bean and a pungent woody tone. Clear golden yellow in color. Light, subdued taste of honeycomb, vanilla and a bit of spicy cinnamon. Middle-of-the-road mead.

Aroma is very subtle and mild. Taste is sweet with subtle vanilla that pairs nicely with the honey characteristics. ---Rated via Beer Buddy by Me
