Bottle at Superstition, pours a clear blonde. Aroma brings out a wonderful harmony of rich vanilla beans and medium sweet honey. Flavour is heavy on the vanilla upfront, followed by booze and medium sweet honey. Wonderful incorporation of the vanilla beans, though they seem to make this even sweeter. Fantastic stuff.

Can smell the vanilla mixed with the honey. This is nice; simple, yet tasty. A perfect balance, which is appreciated, as vanilla can easily go over the top.

Bottle shared at Woodshop 10. Clear white wine pour, faint yellow, with good legs upon swirl. Gamey honey nose with big cinnamon. Taste is lighter-bodied than expected, but still fairly rich, just thinner than other Superstition meads. White grape juice is the main character with some cinnamon like spice, but not really any vanilla that I can detect.

Nose has slight hints of tannin with obvious oakey tones.. Despite its honey origin, smell resembles a sweet white grape wine. Palate is clean and crisp, not too sweet. The alcohol and oakeyness cut through the honey creating a very pleasant and palateble balance.

November 5, 2015. Bottle, batch 0406, shared by linusb, thanks!
Clear pale golden, no head. Aroma is vanilla, sweet honey, slight floral, some bubbelgum, hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet honey with some floral and vanilla notes. Finish is sweet floral honey, slight astringency, vanilla and alcohol. Medium to full bodied, oily and flat.
Good but some disturbing bubbelgum notes.

Now that is what I’m talkin’ about! Freshly split vanilla bean, caramel, maybe even a bit of coconut. Not super sweet, but rather, balanced with alcohol that warmed the belly while invisible in taste. Aroma of ice-cream and a beautiful white-sand beach. Delicious! Glad I have a bottle of this back home!
