Poured yellow with an ok head. Corn, but more body than other beer. Not good, but the best salvadoreño beer I have found.

From a 12 oz. long neck green bottle with no bottled/freshness date. Poured a clear lager golden with a white foamy head that settled into a thin lacing. Had a nose of lemons, even a bit lemon grassy, and sweet grain malts, no corny aromas, for a macro lager, pleasant and inviting smelling. Good carbonation and crisp, dry and smooth lightish medium bodied mouthfeel. A sweet lemon soda-like quality that for me was the down fall of the taste and reduced the drinkability, dry grain malts, a soft hop profile and a dryish finish with the lemon soda metallic flavor ruining the aftertaste. Drinkable aroma, but the taste is not that appealing

Corn adjuncts predominate in both nose and flavor. Some light hints of a suggestion of hop bitterness...but I might be wrong. Drinkablity skyrockets as it’s serving temperature approaches 32 degrees.

Bottle

Pours lackluster gold with absolutely minimal aroma. What little there is is mostly maize, with some bizarre sweetness in the background. Taste is salty, like Gustavo made an uh-oh and poured salt instead of rice into the beer. Palate is water. Disgusting.

Suprema de m.....!Dirty light yellow lager with a thick froathy white head. Sweet corn and chalky aroma, a bit skunky, and honey notes. In mouth, watery lager with corn juice, light chalky notes, no hops, slightly oxidized. Ademas, de la p... de gato! Trade with Piscator (not his fault, mine!).

This beer was a very CLEAR yellow with a thick white head. The taste and aroma were both skunky/bad. I would not reccomend this at all. It’s nearly Corona bad. So far I have not found a good pale lager yet from south of the border, well pale lager in general, but especially one from south of the border or farther south in this case.

Very light and hazy with a white head. Sweet corn aroma. Sweet, thin, slightly sour. Some vegetablle flavors. Not good. Gets the drain.

Nekronos (3633) - Xalapa, MEXICO - AUG 3, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2006 THis is strange too, it has a bitter and new flavor, and the hangover is cruel. I would not drink this over several beers.

Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (cereal, grain), trace hops (herbs), with a note of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Sugary sweet carbonated corn juice more than beer.

With a name like Suprema, one should be allowed to expect a grander brew. Apparently not. A skunky golden lager that quickly loses its head, this is a drinkable, bland beer with tastes of grass, corn syrup, some "dirty" hops, and a touch of tin.
