2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light gold color. Medium head. A light bodied lager, Mild hops and malts. Malts are slightly sweet; hops are mild and fairly neutral. Smooth taste. Mild and light flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is neutral and slightly sweet. Not much bad or good to say about this beer. A beer beer. Yup add another counrty to my list.

Slight skunky smell upon pouring. Lifeless look to it after a quick settle. Reminiscnent of a skunky Beckís - but better than I had expected when looking at the bottle which had cheap beer written all over it. Well, add another country to my list.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
At first I thought that this was just like their Pilsener of El Salvador, but atfer a while it kind of, sort of grew on me. The skunkiness seemed to go away as the glass went on and revealed a slight woodiness, maybe a hint of apples, making it at least drinkable. But still no ace of hearts on the label.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: APR 3, 2003 Surprisingly it was drinkable, but very run-of-the-mill, as with the other beers that I've had from this brewery. Dark gold, hazy, with a bit of sediment. Mildly malty nose and slightly skunky. Mediocre pilsener, a bit of malt, and mild metallic hops. Palate average. Rerate comments If you can get a fresh bottle, that the light hasn't penetrated too badly, then it actually fares a little better...

Better than Carib and better than corona even with a lime.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Malty nose that is quite skunky and a very light yellow color that sinít so attractive. A little over carbonated for my taste, as the finish was largely like soda. This is really only suitable for drinking cold in the hot sun. After that, it falls flat.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Clear golden. Quickly dying head. Skunky nose with a bit of malt. Very watery texture. A tad bit of malt upfront and this falls apart, minor bitterness and acidity in finish. A waste of water.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very carbonated but for $2.50 (for a sixer) not a bad deal at all. Not skunky and a good finish.

With beers of this sort, Iím always inclined to regard their utility rather than make some stab at their íqualityí -- I know that when Iím in Mexico on a 90 degree beach, Iím going to want something very easy. At night when Iím eating Iím going to want added flavor and complexity that compliments spicy, hearty dishes. This is not as drinkable as the water-substitutes like Corona or Tecate nor does it have the complexity of a San Miguel or Negra Modelo.
