mine 6-pack wasnt skunked, however, there was one prevailing characteristic in both the aroma and flavor: wet paperbag/cardboard. too bad, decent enough looking lager.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
(Sample at September 12, 2008 Beer Club Meeting) First thing I hear from the club members (before I even have a chance to sample this) is "smells like feet". No, that’s not going to affect my rating at all. This one is even more clear than the other Latin American lagers I’ve sampled. Nice head, though. Kudos on that. It has a grainy aroma. In a strange way, I’m kinda drawn to this and I’m not sure why.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
I’m always on the lookout for new country ratings so I had to go ahead and pick one of these up just to claim El Salvador. This is a super pale yellow pour with very little head. A little harsh, and a little metallic. Skunky. Not good.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
At first I thought that this was just like their Pilsener of El Salvador, but atfer a while it kind of, sort of grew on me. The skunkiness seemed to go away as the glass went on and revealed a slight woodiness, maybe a hint of apples, making it at least drinkable. But still no ace of hearts on the label.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
My supervisor brought me back a six from Guatemala after visiting his family. Surprisingly malty and some spicyness I can’t quite put my finger on. Smooth and refreshing that has little aftertaste. I have requested more.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Very light and hazy with a white head. Sweet corn aroma. Sweet, thin, slightly sour. Some vegetablle flavors. Not good. Gets the drain.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not bad. Bottle poured yellow with no head or lacing.
Aroma of watered down corn and malt.
Flavor is watery with a bit of malt.
Would be good freezing cold in the Arizona heat.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Aroma of stale straw, metal and apple cores. Light yellow lager color. Mildly fruity sweet taste, feels processed. Sourish bitter elements at first, these would likely disappear if the beer warmed up. It suffices to say I bought it from the President’s uncle, who also sold me the Olde English forty.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Hmmm a beer from El Salvador, I can’t wait to try this one. It must be legendary. Lets see, first off it pours a clear pale golden color, but not as light as other pale lagers that I’ve had. Aroma is of malts, corn, some fruit, and hops. Flavor is a bit skunked. There’s malts, corn, hops, grain, and wheat present. Leaves a bitter hoppy malt finish. Terrible.
