33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. 900 litre production. My first beer from this brewery. Dark brown with a faint red hue, little beige head. Thick liquorish & sweet malty nose, faintly herbal, dried dark fruits. Taste is similar sweet brown sugar & liquorish, sweet spices, sweet herbs touch, dried dark fruits. Touch more substantial body, pretty nice brew.

Bruine kleur, dikke laag schuim. Ruikt naar drop en hoestsiroop. Smaakt erg goed, een beetje zuur. Verrassend lekker!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark brown colour with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Dark malty, slightly leafy and sugary aroma with notes of caramel, liquorice and dried fruits, also alcohol is detectable. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Mildly roasted dark malt character with notes of liquorice, caramel and a tinge of fruit punch; sweet malty, liquorice- and yeasty spicy finish with warming alcoholic notes and hints of almonds/marzipan in the aftertaste. Not overly complex but satisfying. 8.I.13

Clear dark brown beer, huge fizzy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of spices, reminds me of Southern Tier Pumking. Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, black cherries, dried fruits, some caramel, cough syrup, elder berries. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: dried fruits, sugar, alcohol, ripe plums, little sourish, red currants, cranberries. Aftertaste: dark chocolate, mocha, sour berries, some lemon juice, alcohol, noticeable, little bitter, more spices, cloves, coffee.

Very little head. Reddish orange coloration. Sourness displaces the malty body toward the end of the drink. A persistent skunkiness in an unfortunate aspect.
