Dark brown color, steady creamy tan head. Yeasty, vegetably, a bit chocolaty aroma. Crisp, fruity, grape-fruitness in the flavor, also plumes and dates. Quite yeasty, maybe too fresh.

Bottle, bought @ Belgianshop.com
Pours deep brown, bordering on black. A fair, but rather fizzy offwhite head that settles as a millimeter thick foam. Heavy spicy aroma. Lots of cloves, coriander, sour-ish plums and cherries, chocolate. Some sweet caramel to back it all up. High carbonation, very prickly. Otherwise fine, and lightly dry mouthfeel. Nice flavours. Chocolate, light tart fruit, yeast, well-balanced spiciness with some coriander, cinnamon. Fine dryness with some cocoa-powder feel. Actually a very nice Christmas beer.

330ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, Belgian Weeks 2009)
Hazy gold, tiny tight head. Odd rotting meat aroma. In fact, it’s meat and 2 veg. One of the veg’s is asparagus. Soapy taste, also some veg. Finish very hoppy. Yeast removes the quirkiness, and reduces soapiness.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark brown colour with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Dark malty, slightly leafy and sugary aroma with notes of caramel, liquorice and dried fruits, also alcohol is detectable. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Mildly roasted dark malt character with notes of liquorice, caramel and a tinge of fruit punch; sweet malty, liquorice- and yeasty spicy finish with warming alcoholic notes and hints of almonds/marzipan in the aftertaste. Not overly complex but satisfying. 8.I.13

Deep dark brown beer with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly tart and chewy with a distinct nose of licorice and clove. A touch of mint and more anise character. There is a bit of light vineous tartness on the front. Flavour shows a lot of candied fruit and heavy spiciness. Cooked caramel, clove, coriander and a touch of lemon. A fairly hot peppery flavour on the back. Light chewy cherry/sweet toasted malt flavour. Heavy spice and woodiness and a lingering bitterness.
