(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark brown colour with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Dark malty, slightly leafy and sugary aroma with notes of caramel, liquorice and dried fruits, also alcohol is detectable. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Mildly roasted dark malt character with notes of liquorice, caramel and a tinge of fruit punch; sweet malty, liquorice- and yeasty spicy finish with warming alcoholic notes and hints of almonds/marzipan in the aftertaste. Not overly complex but satisfying. 8.I.13

Bruine kleur, dikke laag schuim. Ruikt naar drop en hoestsiroop. Smaakt erg goed, een beetje zuur. Verrassend lekker!

From bottle at 13e Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Dark brown with almost no head. Spiced and sugary aroma. Complex spicy flavours: cinnamon and pepper on a caramel base.Short finish. Noticeable alcohol. All in all pleasurable, but not great.

Kerstbierfestival 2009. Muddy dark brown pour with a thin beige head. Aroma of slightly roasted malt, sweetness and mild spices. The flavor feels ordinary, there’s slightly roasted malt, sweetness and mild spices. The body is light to medium while the carbonation is moderate. It’s decent, but doesn’t compare to the great Belgian Christmas beers.
