Bottle 330ml. @ home.

ABV: 9.0%. Clear medium to dark brown amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, spicy, dark malt, moderate to light heavy spices, light anis seed, salvie - sage - nutmeg and cinnamon ! Flavor is heavy to moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, spicy bitter, raisin - prune in alcohol. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation looks flat, in mouth it is lively. [20110124]

Bottle from Beer Mania. Dark brown cola body with poppy head. Nose of caramel, toffee and ginger. Taste is quite similar. A bit watery and sweet. The ginger-type flavour is putting me off. Okay.

(Bottled) Nice head, very dark, hazy ruby brown. Anise-licorice-herby spicey nose, reminiscent of Gouden Carolus series - now I’m afraid I opened this too cold. Flavor is caramely, lightly roasty, spicy and anisey, remaining reasonably dry overall. Quite nice, actually - like a lighter and more carbonated version of GC series, although not quite as clean and refined. This is what I like about Belgian Strong Ales - even the less scored ones can surprise in a positive way. 4235

Bottle, bought @ EG.
Pours redish chestnut with a small, fizzy, beige head. Disappears quickly. Aroma is spicy, cloves, raisins, red wine, glögg, almonds. Quite sweet. Highish carbonation, slight oily and rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is fairly mild, some chocolate, prunes, plums. Fairly spicy still, some pepper, mostly cloves, light cinnamon. Warming, dry and light burning sensation at the end.

Pours out dark brown, a hugh head but colapses almost instant to leave just s very small head. A bit weird smell, medicinal, couching sirop, some "peperkoek", spiced smell. Lots of spices it seems, and also some earthy. Taste is very unpleasant sour-spiced. Fruits, and lots of spices. Not my thing at all, weird beer.

Bottle, thanks Vaiz! Brown with reddish glow, good lacing. Cheap cough syrup aroma with raisin and cheap wine. Flavour is sour and watery with a weird murky fowlness, yet it’s not so bad as that sounds.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of mint, fruits and some artificial candy. Sour flavor with mint, licorice, candy and bitterness. Strange brew.
