COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Cascadian Dark Ale features vibrant citrusy and floral American hops balanced against a complex malt profile of toasty dark malts with a hint of roasted barley. Just like an early morning surf session, once you start you keep going back.

Formerly Surf Patrol Black IPA.

Looks a little funny in the glass, and has an interesting aroma that isn’t a hop smell or a malt smell. not bad, just different. Black IPA is not what I would call this. I’d call it a happy brown ale.

Bomber from Me & Ed’s Pizza, Oxnard. Nose is pine, grapefruit, and a hint of roasted malt. Black with a big beige head. Flavor is bitter with piney resin and a hint of toasted bread.

ChazMania (642) - Pasadena, California, USA - MAR 5, 2012
Bomber- first beer from this brewery. Aroma is roasty and citrusy- nice and fresh smelling. Appearance is dark with small foamy head. Good taste, like a light version of Stone SSR. Body is a tad thin compared to others for the style that are chewier. An overall very enjoyable first beer from this place.

Black color with tan foam. Hoppy pine, florals with dusty black malts. medium bodied with average co2. Mildly astringent dry black malt flavors with pine, floral hoppage, late semi sweet chocolate, with a drying finish--good.

Tap. Light aroma of pine, sweet bready malts, and a little sour milk. Taste is mostly mellow roasted and bready malts, but there is a slight pine hop bite. Soft mouthfeel.

Tap at TDA, it was a big ’ole pint too. Rating #6. Dark black with a big beige head. Roasty hop aroma, light coffee. Clean roasty flavor, more piney hops and just pretty delicious overall. (1948)

Draught at the brewery. Black with a pale head. Dry malt flavor with some chocolate. Hoppy stuff as to be expected. Clean profile overall with some nice citrus flavor. Nice balance of chocolate and hops but does neither particularly well.

BMan1113VR (7788) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 17, 2011
On tap at the brewery. Pours with a black body and minimal head. Aromas of coffee, roasty, fudge, chocolate, pine, citrus, lightly dank hops. Flavors are roasty, chocolate, spice, pine, light alcohol. Citrusy. Roast is a bit aggressive and comes across a touch astringent. Medium to lively bubbles. This truly is a hoppy porter; over done on the roast.
