Brewed as an American Pale Ale with a twist, a healthy dose of rye adds a subtle spiciness and frothy white head while generous amounts of pleasantly spicy and floral American hops compliment the gentle rye character.

Sample at the taproom. Pours a slightly hazy copper-orange color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of floral hops, fruit and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of herbal hops, mildly spicy rye malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a rye and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a reddish amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head of the brew has a moderate level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave some streaks of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is of a somewhat sweeter aroma overall being a mix of some lighter fruits of apricot and peach as well as having a showing of some caramel. Along with these aromas comes a light toasted malt as well as a hint of rye and some hop of ca citrus and pine nature. Taste – The taste begins with a mix some of the sweeter fruits that were present in the nose. These tastes are mixed with a doughy and light rye taste upfront, which give it a nice smooth feel. The sweeter fades just a hint, but remains rather strong and is joined by some hop of a citrus nature toward the middle of the taste. These flavors take the taste to its end, where they are joined by a bit of pine and some caramel to leave a rather smooth and somewhat more sweet but balanced taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer on the slightly chewier side with a carbonation level that was on the more slightly higher side. For the mix of rye, fruit and lighter hop the chewiness was rather nice as it accentuated the lighter hop and rye rather nicely all while the carbonation was nice for the fruitier taste of the beer. Overall – This was a brew I rather enjoyed. While somewhat fruitier then I would have anticipated, it was balanced nicely by some hop and a doughy rye taste. A good one to give a go to.
